I'm going to browse the other threads but just wondered how people found seeing after an episiotomy. I don't know if its just me pelvic floor but although I'm fully continent I don't feel like I'm in control of my wee in the same way. It seems to just gush out of me now, and in what feels like really large amounts. Also how long did yours take to heal? I still feel numb in patches now there and im hoping that is largely because of the brushing and swelling, anyone else's experiences would be fab xx

Hi dysco, I feel I can't wait as long now when I need the toilet, I have to make my way to the loo quite soon. I had an infection in my stitches, I struggled everyday at the end of the day with the pain. I had antibiotics and a week ago it began to feel fine. Three weeks on I have no pain. If I feel down there it does feel a bit strange still, but hoping that will come back in time

It takes at least couple of weeks to get better, start your pelvic floor exercises asap as they help to regain the control. My episiotomy healed after about 4 weeks. I added drop of tea tree oil to warm water and poured on my bits every time i went to the loo. Worked a treat for healing

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Hiya. I've had 2 episiotomies. Both took 8 ish weeks to heal. But took a bit longer before I felt normal down there. Every woman is different.
I used lavender in the bath and took painkillers, ibuprofen and paracetamol when I needed to but I did start my pelvic floors after about day 3, even if I could manage 1 or 2 at a time MW said it was good to start ASAP as it encourages blood flow which also aids healing.
2nd time I took arnica too.

I coldnt lay sit or stand confprtably for 2 weeks so much pain and alot of swellinf could be due to the lack of anaesthetic.
lavendar oil n milk in the bath worked a treat. weeing stung a little too. i still feel pulling now x

Mines was sore for about 2 weeks and I found getting up from sitting a struggle and felt like i was walking bent over so wen out i used the buggy to straighten myself up - didny realli have any bother with the stitches although think i caugh stitches a couple imes which caused a little bleeding xx

Take the painkillers!!

I didn't find mine too bad, it all felt a bit numb for a good few weeks but I started with the pelvic floors straight away. Keep it as clean as possible with tea tree and lavender in your bath and tea tree on your pads as mine got infected and I needed anti bs.
