Enlarged ovaries? PCOS? Any advice?

Just left hospital after my ultrasound scan (4 months of iffy cycles, bad pain, no/late ovulation (even with positive OPKs at the "right" time). Both of my ovaries are enlarged, but no cysts or anything else was found. I was told this is a sign of PCOS (even without any cysts?) and to check in with my GP for the report and some more blood tests.
Im a little lost and unsure at the moment. Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas/words of wisdom? Everything was normal until 4 months ago.

When I looked back on my health records from previous scans it said one of my ovaries was enlarged. I have endometriosis. At the time there was no evidence of cysts or anything and scans after than showed my ovaries to be a normal size. I know its probably no help at all but didn't want to read and run xx
