Empty sac at 6 weeks 2days

Hi all, I've not posted on here before but wondered if anyone had experienced what I'm going through?
I have a 6 year old daughter, normal preg. Then had a miscarriage at 5-6 weeks 2 years ago. I've now got a 7 month old daughter and we wanted to try again for our 3rd and final.
I am 6 weeks 4 days, my dates are defiantly correct. I had lots of pain so was sent to hospital. I had a scan and they said it is just an empty sac and it's a failed pregnancy. My hormone levels 2 days ago were 19,500 and today 18,400. Until today I was obviously extremely upset to hear the news then the nurse said there is still a possibility even if blood results drop. I have a repeat scan on Wednesday and d&c if still nothing there.
I have no pain or bleeding etc at the moment.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar thing and how it turned out?

sorry huni, ive had a mc and my levels did drop over a few days, but if the nurse has told u that then theres clearly still hope. what kind of pain did u have? Did they say they were going to re scan u in a week or two? xxxxx

id post this in the first trimester section too as u might get better replies in there xxxx

i had really bad cramp/sharp pain 3 days before then carried on as just a dull pain. no pain at the moment and still not miscarried naturally. ive got a scan on wednesday, but i dont think it will be good news with my hormone levels dropping and all.

i will post in first trimester aswell.

Hey, it is also my first posting.

So, last Friday I went to see the late doctors as I started getting a slight throbbing pain on my lower left side. It wasn't a pain as such, more a feeling? They checked me over thought it was just muscular pain but sent me to see the Gyn to rule out an ectopic. The gyn pulled up the blood test results for the test I had the previous day, HCG reading 10,400 - looking good. My last period was 14/10 so I was nearly 8 weeks, the HCG levels coincided with about 6 weeks but I have long cycles so wasn't concerned. Gyn decided I should go back Monday for scan just to rule ectopic out. All weekend fine. Monday had a scan, sac measuring 5.5 weeks but no yolk, no embryo. Not to worry, could be too early. Another HCG test. Results came back as 12,400. Hmm not risen as much as should, expect a bleed and come back Wednesday (today). Yesterday I felt a gush, bled for about an hour, bright red, couple of small clots passed then nothing. Spoke to gyn on phone, likely miscarriage but still go in today. SO I go today, they decide to do another HCG just to be sure. If its come down then they will book D&C. Call this evening to get results and its only dropped to 11,400. Because there has been no further bleeding they want me to go back for more tests Friday though they expect its an MC. I am in absolute turmoil here!! I have read lots of forums where these types of situations turn out to be fine, healthy pregnancies and there are lots of factors as to why these things might happen so I say we both wait, cross our fingers and pray that all is well.
