Egg transfer

Hi everyone
I wonder if any one can help me, I am going through my first round of ivf after TC for 3 years. My gonal f injection was 150ml per day but I haven't responded well and a scan today showed I only have 2-3 eggs. The docs are going to go ahead any way but I wondered if any one has had this few eggs collected before? If so what happened?
The docs said it's likely that I will have to go through it all again on a higher dose and have warned that they might not even be able to collect the eggs, then of course there is no guarantee they will reach blastocyst stage
I'm just so unbelievably down right now I swear I have not one ounce of positivity left in me. If anyone has any advice or stories to share I would really appreciate it.

Hi Ann

A friend of mine went through IVF three times and had a similar number of eggs collected. Unfortunately the first time round they had nothing to transfer.

At my last round of IVF I think they got 5 or 6 eggs (despite having 17 follicles at the right size) but the nurses said that this had been the most collected that day out of all their patients - so I think lower numbers are more common than one might think.

However it's quality over quantity so with 3 showing on the scan you might end up with 3 perfectly viable blastocysts.

I think it's probably right to brace yourself for a difficult outcome - it took me 3 fresh cycles with IVF to get pregnant but the fact it didn't work first time round & there was nothing to freeze came as a bit of a shock back then.

Thanks tinsel cat I will take your advice and assume I'm going to have to start again but there will be a speck of hope there. So glad it worked out for u bet u wouldn't want to go back to these days for love not money!

Just want to wish you luck and fx the eggs are perfect for ivf my process hasnt begun yet but hopefully joining the ivf club shortly xx

I know a girl who had only 3 eggs and it was make factor infertility. They did fall pregnant but miscarried really early but have new regime in place for next round to get more eggs. Wishing you lots if luck xxxxxx
