In most cases, the things that you need to avoid during pregnancy is due to the risk of food poisoning rather than them directly causing harm to the baby.

If you get sick, baby gets sick.

Shellfish is known to be a source of a lot of food poisoning because it's shelf life is so short and can be undercooked.

If you want to eat prawns, you need to make sure they are top quality fresh prawns that you have cooked to oblivion yourself :)

Haha cooked to oblivion- I like it!! I agree though, if you've cooked it yourself it should be fine. Xxx

yeh i agreee its foods you should avoid purely becuse they are prone to cause food poisoning....e.g. cream/soft cheese is also a no go as can contain listerine, pate, and undercooked eggs.

its also advised to be careful when gardening as something to do with the soil containing toxoplasmosis which is a parasite that is dangerous to unborn baby

thats the only thing with getting pregnant having to stop eating/doing things u enjoy lol

So long as they are fresh and cooked thoroughly, it's fine. I've been eating them right through out! :o) xx
