Does anyone know what this is?

My little girl (22 months) has had a virus where she broke out in blisters, got a fever, felt generally unwell and wasn't eaten much, last Sunday we took her to the emergency room where they said they 'think it's her throat' as she was drooling a lot and not eating, so prescribed her Amoxicillin, she's been taking it fine but the blisters have gotten worse, is it just the virus coming out of her system??! They look absolutely horrible!! I'm going back to the doctors regardless on Monday to get some cream etc, but just wondered if anyone else's babe has had this before.

Amoxicillan is an anti-biotic for bacterial infections, this looks more like hand mouth foot not sure if antibiotics will help for that as I'm not a doctor and never had this(yet).. I however did have amoxicillan once that's why I know it's antibiotics. x

Could be hand foot and mouth - does she have any spots or pustules anywhere else? (I.e hands and feet? Or ulcers in mouth)

Edit: tbh I don't know why they gave antibiotics for a virus either as they wont work. Hand foot and mouth normally lasts about a week or so and the symptoms you describe are exactly what it does.

No other spots elsewhere, so we're in limbo! Doctor seemed to think it was tonsillitis but wasn't 100% xx

Hope she's feeling better soon.

Thomas had it a few weeks ago and it started with just a few spots round his mouth, then he got this really fine rash all over his body that was hardly noticeable and eventually his fingers and toes started peeling from some spots there. He never got the mouth ulcers but did have abit of a fever and went off his food.

Hopefully whatever it is she'll get over it quickly

Deffo hand foot and mouth - osvar just getting over it

Drooling is normal because of the blisters in mouth, cough cold and unwell key symtoms as is spots on hands feet, but can go up arms

Google NHS hand foot and mouth - also tell your GP they are shit as they are wrong - there's loads of it going about atm.

I am a childminder and had a child come to me with hand foot and mouth (didn't know when she came) and 3 other children caught it - one had just spots on her feet, one had feet and mouth, and one had just mouth! so they don't necessarily get all 3 places.....

Jake's had hand foot and mouth and it started as easy on bottoms of feet, some in knees then couple on hands....Didn't have them around his mouth but had them inside it so seems to present different in different little ones xx
