Melanie, when you phone up for an appointment, just ask if you can see a different doctor to last time. I've done it before and it's no bother. They shouldn't ask you to explain why, as frankly, it's not their business

And then when you see a diff GP - do you say "I saw X and she said" or do you just ask the same again ??

I would just go in and say that you have been trying for over a year and although you understand that you wouldn't get fertility treatment on the NHS, you would like your GP to run some basic investigations. I would ask for day 21 progesterone to see if you are ovulating, some thyroid function tests and maybe some day 3 hormone tests. If they all come back normal I would then ask for a HSG to check your tubes. I would also ask hubby to go to GP to organise a sperm analysis.
