How do you feel about your instincts as a mother? I know we all rely on printed guidelines about what is best for our babies. I also rely on it. I know it is cos we ALL love our babies & want to do what's best. But do you ever feel like your judgement as a mother is undermined? On the issues which are always subject to change, like weaning, do you feel confidence in your judgements on what is best for you & your child?
Mother's instinct used to mean a lot, but I think we've had our confidence taken away.

Just in the beginning I was rubbish (the first 2 weeks or so). I still had them, but, because of all the stress and tiredness and a great believe that "doctors know best", I didnt listen to myself! i wish I had. But in a time, especially after I! diagnosed Daniel with few things and doctors just told me to "chill out" and not to stress (after I had to push and prove I am right, those things were confirmed) I started to trust them more!

Now I am much more confident! I know my baby best! I trust them 100% and never had a mistake.

My advise to all new mums is to listen to yourself! And If you are in doubt-look for some information, and I bet, in 90% you will be right!

I sometimes get myself into a state over what we should be doing according to the gov guide lines and from other parents.

I do trust my own instints but have questioned myself several times about things to consider in the future like giving Adam solids.

My problem is that I have to think more of the here and now and go with the flow and not to worry about planning the next few months. xxx
