I agree, well done monkey. I'll down my pitch fork, those two bissims have got me too riled up I'm close to ordering my hubby to start star fishing himself.over a parent and child space at all times at Dobbies should I.require it :oooo:

Pahaha! Photos please! ;)

I have like retained preg hormones he's that scared of me just now he'd probably do it :oooo: Dobbies Mars bar slice, I dare anyone to tell me I'm over reacting

I have never heard of a mars bars slice, but I know I want one...... i'm off to google it....

Hubby said I should have parked behind them and got out and done my shop.
I was like a mad woman running around the aisles trying to find them tho !!

This is ridiclous. Not all car parks have parent child spaces, in fact most don't so how do you all cope then? For gods sake you just do! I don't think I've ever had more than a slight issue getting my baby in the car. The parent child spaces near my supermarket are nearly always full so I never even bother parking there anymore, it's not exactly an inconvenience to my life, nor does it affect my child's safety. May require a tiny bit more effort on your own part, but that's all! The principle of getting worked up about it is so pointless.

My father in law has a blue badge because he has arthritis in his hands. And he's told me that if there's no disabled parks, he is allowed to park in the parent and child? I told him he must have read it wrong, cause seriously he'd get a telling off from me if I caught him doing that. There's nothing wrong with his legs.

I'm happy to park wherever when it's just LO and me as just use the little car. But when I've got all 4 kids I've got to take the big car. If I can't get a parent park, I have to go home. I've been blocked in too many times. Only way in was to climb through the boot. Not easy.

Yup he's right.

If you are a blue badge holder you can actually park on double yellows. Which I understand but it also drives me mad because most places are double yellow because it's too dangerous to park there!!

He is *allowed* but if he is perfectly able to park elsewhere then it becomes a moral argument really; on his conscience be it! I wouldn't, but then again if he has a blue badge for arthritis in his hands and he knows he has no genuine need for the disabled bay spaces in the way many other blue badge holders do, then I wouldn't personally be using them at all in all good conscience; unless of course, he has issues pushing a trolley with his hands, in which case the need may apply.

Glamorous though ;)

Oh yes I knew about the double yellows. We have one Main Street in our town, and at weekends you can hardly drive down it because each side is parked on.

Not answering the question but just so you know if someone without a child parks in a mother and baby space in asda you can go to the customer service desk and they will make them move. I had it recently where a lady in a 4x4 cut me up to get in the last mother and baby space despite the fact I was waiting to get in it and I had both my 2 year old and newborn in the car. I questioned her and she just shrugged and said she didn't want people to scratch her new car!!!! Well I saddled right up on my high horse and went to the customer service desk. They actually called her over the loud speaker and when she refused to move they said she had a choice, move or be banned from the shop! Haha, the snotty mare had to hang her head in shame and move. One small victory for mummies, my 2 year old even high fived me :) xxx

Haha - love it!! Good for you:)

That's Brilliant Taffy!

I did give a single lady on her own the dirtiest look for parking in P&C once and she moved! I felt so smug for ages.

Of course he's allowed. Anyone is allowed to park in p&c spaces, disabled or not. They're not legally protected.

For people saying you *need* p&c spaces, what do you do in car parks that don't have them? Round here it's mainly only supermarkets that have them, anywhere else just has normal spaces and disabled. I manage and I've got a wide people carrier and I take the whole car seat out to put on the chassis.

Fgs, having a child is completely different to having a disability. It amazes me that anyone could think that they're more entitled to a space than a blue badge holder. It's not even easy to get a blue badge these days, you have to have a serious need.

It does irritate me when non-disabled people without children use the p&c spaces but they are still just as entitled to - they're only provided as a courtesy and can't be legally enforced. It is a bit selfish though, unless no other spaces are left.
