** December Babies Tri 3 !!! **

He is here!! WHAT a long weekend. Pessary at 8.30 Sunday night but he didn’t come until 5.45am Tuesday. Worse and slower labour than with no1 which I wasn’t expecting. Also manage with no epi as planned, lost a lot of blood though. Haven’t slept since sat but hoping to write full story ASAP after a sleep! We called him Elijah - 9.9lbs....!!!!!xx

Hi. I had my little girl on 21 November as I was induced for reduced movements. Charlotte was born after a fairly easy labour weighing 6lb 14oz, today should be her due date actually.x

Congratulations baby, good to hear labour was easy. I'm getting more nervous about labour the closer it gets. You'd think being my third I'd be more relaxed. I live much further away from hospital now than I did with my first two though.

Aw candy, so sorry you ended up having a rotten time. Sounds like you done so well with a 9lb 9 baby, well done you! Congratulations and welcome to the world baby Elijah!

Congratulations to you too baby, welcome baby Charlotte. I’m glad you had a good labour experience!

I’m 37 weeks today, feeling very behind most  getting a sweep on Tuesday so fingers crossed it gets things moving. Celene I’ve been getting lots of sharp pelvic pains too, I’m hoping it means baby is engaging. I never had this with my first! I hope baby gets a move on before your DD xxx

Congratulations ladies! Welcome to the world Elijah and Charlotte. Hope baby arrives soon Celine. I was 4/5 engaged at 36+3 and have had the sharp pains for weeks, but nothing here. 6 days till my elective section, so I’m actually in the situation where I don’t want labour to start!

How lovely to hear some December babies are here! Congratulations and welcome to Elijah and Charlotte!

I’ll be 38 weeks tomorrow, baby’s head was 2/5 engaged last week and I’ve had a lot of cramping and sharp pains but have a feeling I’ll be waiting a while yet. Trying not to count down the days as I don’t want to get disappointed once my due date has been and gone!

Good luck to everyone! X

Congrats candy!! it must be a huge releif to get it over and done with. Im also due on sunday. Baby has been engaged for months, but doesnt seem like hes ready to come anytime soon. Im getting fed up of waiting as my other two came early.

Hope it starts soon! My mum was due my little brother on Christmas Day in 1991. Me and my other brother had arrived early, so she assumed my brother would too. He arrived at 10:30pm on Christmas Day. There have been two December babies on the FB group who arrived in November and the rest of us are still waiting. 4 days to go for me! Tonnes of snow here today, so I’ve told baby they have to stay put!

I'm due today too, it's Sunday here in NZ. Baby is only 1/5 engaged still has been like that since 32 weeks. My first was a day early and second 3 days late. I'm showing no signs of labour being near. I really hoped this bubs would be early, further away from Xmas the better!

Hope your well x

Congratulations to all the ladies and babies so far

My little girl was born two weeks ago today...28th Nov.

11lbs of perfection

Fab nat! 11lbs - wow!

Really hope to see some updates soon from you ladies still waiting. I feel your pain! xx

Congratulations Nat! 11lbs though

I’m torn between wanting this baby out now and wanting them to wait until at least Monday as my local hospital’s new labour suites aren’t opening until then and I’d like a water birth if possible. I’ve been having bad backache and period cramps since last night, they are constant rather than coming in waves so I don’t think it’s labour yet but hopefully it means things are beginning to happen. My midwife said yesterday that they are behind on inductions so if I go over I’m now thinking we might have a 2018 baby instead.

Just thought I’d post to say my little boy arrived on 11/12/17 - the day before my elective section was booked. It’s been a bit of a stress as my waters went at 5am with 10-11 inches of snow on the ground. Had to be transported by ambulance as we couldn’t get there any other way. Thankfully, I’d not eaten at all, so they managed to move me on to the section list for that day.

This did mean I was last on the list despite being the only one actually in labour. It was pretty uncomfortable being stuck in a chair in a waiting room. At 5pm, they panicked when they realised my contractions were hotting up so took me to delivery to check dilation. Only 1cm, but they gave me gas and air which too a little off the pain. At about 6pm, they took me to theatre. The last few contractions before the spinal were awful. Baby was then born at 6:45pm weighing 9lb 14. The second part was a bit rough as the spinal began to wear off which meant I could feel scrubbing and stitching which was painful. They tried to give morphine to help, but it didn’t work. The only think they could have done would have been a general but I didn’t want to be knocked out for hours.

Recovery went well. Lost a bit more blood than normal, but not anaemic and I seem to be healing well. Had a bit of a hiccup when they weren’t happy with my little boy’s breathing and he was sent to NICU, but he was discharged after a day and now we are home. :)

Good luck everyone who is still waiting!!

Congratulations joey clare, im glad all is well now. My little boy arrived on his due date 10/12/17. I was getting contractions while i was sleeping which were painful but i didnt think much of them as i used to get alot of tightening with cramping daily anyway
It was only wen i got out of bed for a toilet trip i realised my waters has already broke. I waited an hour and half before going up to the hospital as previous pregnancys ide been sent home. When they checked me at the hospital i was 4cm, then had a slight panic attack from the intensity of the contractions, couldnt catch my breath and freaked out. from there it happend all so quickly but felt like a lifetime and contractions were coming every minute and were so intense. I used gas and air and was honestly crying inside because of the pain. I had to hold myself together because if i didnt i would have proberbly had another panic attack and totally lost controll of myself and die of a heart attack, worse pain ever. i had a transitional stage of 13mins and were just thankful when i could feel myself ready to push.

All is well now appart from my chest n sternum is really painful when laying down

Im part of this group now as I gave birth prematurely to a boy on 25th December: )

Hey Nat, congratulations to you too.

I was 34+2 weeks with first baby.

He's being monitored but he's doing very well.

I'm trying to start the milk flowing and haven't had much luck yet (it's only been 2 days) but they are starting to feel so so sore. Any tips please?

I breastfed for nine days...I loved doing it but it’s very tiring. On day 5 Lacey was weighed and had lost 13% of her body weight and ended up back in hospital as she was starving...my milk didn’t come in properly so I tried combined breast and formula but she ended up refusing the breast so I went with formula. Everyone is different though and hopefully it works for you. Not trying to scare you just like to make people aware as my wee girl was so distressed and so hungry I blamed myself.

Wow that was early, good weight though, glad he is doing well x

Congratulations all December mummy’s! I had my baby boy Grayson on the 19th of December at 38+6 weighing 7lb 9. I was induced on the 18th at 10pm and he was born at 5.25am on the 19th. I was 4cm at 4.40am and my waters broke, he was born 45 minutes later. Was the most intense painful experience but I’m so glad it worked out the way it did. I was home within 9hrs of his birth and I’ve recovered well.

Just trying, congratulations on your little early arrival. Does he have a name? I can’t believe he arrived on Xmas day, what are the chances. I’ve been very lucky with my milk, it came on day 2 and he’s been feeding like a dream. Are you getting to hold your little one? If so lots of skin to skin and keep offering the breast to encourage your milk. With my first son my milk didn’t come in until day 5 so don’t be disheartened if it takes longer as he’s your first. Ask the midwives/nurses for lots of help xx
