Could breastfeeding affect TTC?

Hi there, I've posted this in TTC but thought I would post here also i am currently breastfeeding my 2 year old but also at the same time trying to convince weve been trying for for 4 months now with no luck, my friend said it may be due to me still bf any advice would be appreciated

It could be why, have your cycles returned to normal? Do you know if your ovulating or not? It differs from person to person so hard to tell, thats why they tell you not to use bf as contraceptive as its possible to get pregnant. A friend of mine still feeds her 2 yr old and is 10 weeks preg so it is possible to conceive whilst bf x

Hi thanks for your reply, I think my cycles are back to normal I have a period every month was in the pill but came off it 5 months ago, similar to your friend is still bf and 20 weeks pregnant so it is possible, I want to keep bf my Lo as long as possible...also he is quite demanding when he wants it and it's the only way to settle him on a night x

Breastfeeding can delay cycles coming back, but if your cycles are back then shouldn't have any further effect. Lots of people, myself included, get pregnant while still breastfeeding.
