Cot bumpers - safe or not?

I'm not using a bumper until the winter cos they can restrict air flow around baby and they can over heat in the summer. Also going to get a mozzy net cos if he's anything like his dad's side of the family he could react badly to bites xxxxxxxx

The cheapest I have seen it in blue is £30 but I'm also on the lookout Olive.
