I have been to doctors and they have said i should have the implant because i don't want tablets or the coil. He then told me how they do it and now I'm freaked out lol

I never realised they had to cut you to put it in! Has anyone had it done and does it hurt?

They make a tiny slit in your arm. It's not painful at all! Very easy and not at all scary!

I got it in September and it's not sore at all, you'll get a small injection of local anaesthesia and they inject it in through a needle, no cutting or slits required!

My doc said he makes a small incision to insert it! Seriously thinking about getting the 3 monthly injection instead lol

I've had it and it doesn't hurt at all getting it inserted I was petrified, the injection stings with it being antithetic but it was well worth it as I don't have to worry about it now.

Obviously no contraception is 100% but...., my nearly 1 year old was conceived whilst on the injection! I wasn'tj late for it and hadn't missed any!

Honestly I'm a big wimp and it really wasn't bad!

I had one before I got pregnant & I've got another one now. It's really quick & they numb the area before they put it in. Once it's in you can't feel it & it means you don't have to think about contraception for 3 years. I've had the injection before too which is fine but I had no periods with that & wondered what was happening to my body plus you've still got to remember to go get it. Implant all the way for me, my periods were always regular before on it to x

I'm booked in on 5th feb for the implant, if it hurts i blame you lot lol

After birth the tiny incision is nothing. I didn't even feel the numbing injection.

I think I'd rather have the coil than the implant especially with the removing part would freak me out. Me mate had one done and she's fine with it, she didn't think it was too bad. I think with anything it's trial and error and if it's really horrible before it's even put it, you can always decide to stop the procedure anyway! Perhaps ask for local anaesthesia which I know they can do with the coil if needs be :) Good luck x
