Consultant appt

Just had 36 week appt with growth scan. Omg baby is huge!!

How come tho a midwife measures me at 1 week ahead but scan shows some measurements off the scale!!

Getting very worried this baby will be a 12lb one lol.

what did the consultant say about it being big? did they give you any birth weight estimations? x

It was a stand in consultant this time. He basically said they have no concerns with big babies and would not look to induce until term.
Head and leg are on size for dates but abdo circ off the scale which he didn't seem bothered about.

yeah, mine has a little round tummy...lol...everything else kind of normal. just gonna have little chubby babies.

i was told if it still measures big they would induce me at 39 weeks... xx

Are sections not offered for first timers with large babies?

Mine was off the chart too and there not worried, my consultant said babies are naturally getting bigger like we are compared to our parents/ grandparents. She said the charts are out of date in her opinion and so she isn't worried. Mine was weighing about 7.5 pounds at 35 weeks measuring 39 weeks. They are not going to induce unless i go overdue then they wont let me go too much over.
My consultant also said if your induced your more likely to have problems and need a c section and the risks of that out weigh the risks of letting baby go naturally at Due Date. Each consultant has a different opinion tho from what i have heared.
Im now measuring 41 weeks at 38+5
Really done want an induction tho so FX baby makes its own way. xx

I've just come back from having gtt as at my last scan at 31 weeks babys head is measuring 2 weeks ahead and so are legs and her tummy is measuring 35 weeks and is above the 99 percentile and was weighing 5lbs 1oz hoping they are gonna give me another scan soon as i dread to think what she'll weigh by the time i give birth.

Birth weights are going through the roof these days! Small baby clothes are for up to 6 or 7lb! Thing is if foofs were getting big enough to deal with them ttc would be like throwing a sausage down an alleyway lol xxxxxxxxx

I think its more pevlis size and height that has gone up, i dont think foof's have caught up yet - then again even tho the baby is measuring well ahead ive worked out a rough weight of 9 and half pounds, which isn't really massive nowadays there are loads of women having 10 pound babies.
