Confused about dates

Going by my calculations I am 10 weeks pregnant but the midwife at the private scan I had put me back a week and was happy with that but a guy at work is having a baby and his measures 2.7mm and mine measures 2.5mm and his is due a couple of weeks before me and now I am just really confused

Anyone else had this?!

I'm no sonography expert but the difference in those measurements is so tiny is it possible they go by other indicators too to determine how far along you are?

Maybe the size/shape of womb or the look of the foetus itself?

I've always been led to believe the dating scans are uber-accurate so maybe they don't rely soley on the head to toe measurement?

Try not to worry, but I'd stick with the hospital figure, I'm sure you've read enough here to know it's always a very rough ballpark idea anyway!
