christmas eve

i love xmas eve although normally im working till 6 :( when i get home we cook sausage rolls and fairy cakes make some sarnies open some snacks and all sit and watch "a christmas carol" always same film its tradition in this house then we go midnight mass at 11 till 12:30 mass is only half an hour we have a lovely carol service for the first hour xxx

I run round like a fool cleaning house from top to bottom whislt OH entertains the kids, Only Xmas songs aloud in house aswell :D
Then make snacky things for next day as xmas day night at ours is like an open house for all family after kids are in bed, it's adult time then :D

We then go to xmas service at church around 5.30, Emily is in school choir and it is lovely then settle down to a take out and a christmas film :D

This year goodness knows what will happen as OH has a footie match and usually the match b4 xmas they have an all day session
Over my dead body this year :shakehead:

We put tree up at beginning of December but it gets crappy decs and the kids decorate it. On Christmas Eve, it gets the posh decs and lights and the rest of the room gets decorated

thats a good idea

Theoretically I shouldn't be celebrating Xmas because I am Jewish but Dad wasn't so as kids we had the usual Xmas! On Xmas Eve Mum used to make us a snowball to make us drowsy (never worked !) and we'd all have new PJs to wear!

Now I am in Denmark they celebrate Xmas on Xmas Eve so now Leorah is here we will have a danish Xmas celebration on the 24th and an english celebration on the 25th. I will defiitely keep the tradition of a new pair of PJs to go to bed in! All our pics as kids have me and my brothers around the tree surrounded by pressies in matching PJs in different colours.

This year my Mum and step dad and younger brother are hiring a holiday house and are coming here for a week to join in with Leorah's first xXmas! (and Channukah!). I'm really excited for the first time in years!
