Hospital bag for bubs:

Blanket
Cardigan for coming home
Formula starter set (if I can't breastfeed, my hospital don't provide them)
Muslins and bib
Size 1 nappies x 10 (more in car)
Cotton wool
Mini sudocrem

Anything major im forgetting? We'll have snacks, camera etc in a different bag that hubby is doing with his spare T-shirt and shorts. I keep looking and thinking I've forgotten something major.

I took straws to drink my luciozade with and found them a godsend!! My OH coild give me a drink no matter what position I was in. Other than that that's about what I had x

I would add a pair of slippers :) x

Straws

Slippers

If possible a big sports bottle that you can put some ice in for water/juice. This was a god sent to be throughout labour - was getting fed cold water like a queen!

You might want some arnica, witch hazel or some sort of cream incase your sore/irritated during the night afterwards.

A book/ipad/mp3, believe it or not you can be left waiting about lots during/after labour whilst baby just sleeps the day away and you cant sleep LOL.

Sensitive baby wipes (for you)

Oh and a phone charger.

I think thats about all Id add to that.

Good luck!

xxx

My bag is pretty much identical babe, not forgetting spare change & charger. Also taking flip flops rather then slippers as can go in shower with them. I suffer anxiety too so understand exactly what you mean when get too hot I get all panicky also! I'm taking books / magazines too just in case I feel the need to read haha. Xxxx

Dressing gown and slippers? Apart from that you are good :-)

Thanks girls, I'll take my flip flops can't stand slippers on when I'm hot. Glad im not the only one bunny already stressing about being hot lol.

Got my ancient cardigan that I'll take instead of a dressing gown too will probably wear that to go in. Ooh I'll shove my arnica in the bag and straws. I like the image of being given the water like a queen haha. Xx

That's why I'm not taking a dressing gown either because of the heat thing! I completely get it , it's mad how it can start your anxiety off! I may get a mini fan today sure I'll find one somewhere xxxx

Im the same with the heat. Its actually really making me nervous as I last gave birth when it was snowing and even then I was crying because I was so hot so its really worrying me this time. I have a hand held fan but actually considering hauling in my massive room fan!

I did take a nighty.

It ended up on the floor. LOL so you may get this hot and feel the same.

The bottle and straws really do help. xxx

Looks great lovely. I'm with you on the flip flops. I have some old ones. Can't stand hot feet.

Lansinoh nipple cream if your trying to breast feed to, some hospitals so have sachet samples of you ask the midwife. I applied it from day one after every feed.

Maybe another set of pyjama pants, I leaked through one set almost after putting them on.

I did have to stay in 24 outs because my LO pooed whilst I was in labour,

Good luck xx

Really thought I'd be the only one worrying about this, the maternity ward do have some fans, i asked but its first come first served so really hoping I get one.

Didn't think of the lansinoh I'll pick some up as its on my list of things still to get x

Cotton vest tops or nighties. You tend to... erm... lose all that excess water via sweat soon after birth and you'll need fabrics you're cool in. Plus they make breastfeeding easy. I'd also add disposable changing mats :)

My bag is very similar too, agree on the flip flops and I am taking a wipe clean changing mat too and some baby wipes to clean it x

I'm taking some of Hubby's old baggy t shirts that I can throw away afterwards I wear them as nighties at home so I've shoved a couple in. I'll look a bit raggedy haha but there so baggy and comfy lol. Never thought of disposable changing mats. Thanks! Think I'll have it all finished today xx

There might be one with your changing bag? mine came with one..

xx

Yep most changing bags have a vinyl changing mat, but the disposable ones are great for accidentally messy nappies as well as being handy to sit on... If you catch my drift lol

I've yet to get a changing bag nothing I like lol, but I found a disposable pack yesterday so one more thing ticked off! Just using my weekend iron fist bag as a changing bag for now. Thanks all! Hospital bag done and ready feel much more prepared xx
