hello everyone

I am jsut wondering can you use a carrycot with stand as a moses basket?
I just think it would make more sense than having both things sat around the house lol

I have noticed a few of the carrycots have optional stands and matress available so just wondering if I am understanding it right or if I am going mad?

Hiya!

I think you can hun! Makes sense anyway seeing as they sell mattresses for them x

we were looking at doing the same thing - just buying a thicker mattress. That was until a friend warned me that carry cots aren't as "breathable" as moses baskets, and a new born shouldn't be in a carry cot for more than 2 nights in a row. How true this is I am not sure.

What we have decided to do is buy the carry cot, and a cot bed. Putting the new born into the cot bed rather than a moses basket.

Keen to hear others perspectives?

I am not sure about sleeping over night but I do know the lady in mothercare advised us we could use the carrycot for day sleeping which woud save us having to get a moses basket - we have a gliding crib for night time upstairs.

With my DS we had a cot bed and moses basket - first few weeks we just used the moses basket by the side of the bed and then I started putting the actual moses basket into the cot bed - the cot bed was just too huge with him in it in the early weeks! xx

I'm going to use our carry cot for day time sleeping and have a crib in our bedroom for the first 5-6 months. Can't afford a moses basket too.
