My Mum was telling me earlier that Catherine (the girl that had her baby yesterday) was told by the anaesthetist (while she was being prepped for the epi) that he'll test her 30 mins after it's administered to check she's totally numb. He told her that if at any point she doesn't feel totally numb, he will remove it and insert it again in another point in her spine.
I'm soooo annoyed!! My anaethetist NEVER said this to me! I said repeatedly during labour that I could still feel everything down there, and even said while I was being stitched in theatre that I could feel everything and no-one even offered for a new epi to be inserted!!
Thought I'd post it here so that pregnant ladies are aware of this. I know the epi does work for the majority of women, but for those unlucky few where it doesn't work, it's worth knowing this.
GRRRRRRRRR!! x
