Well it’s been a long time since we did any camping but the first bank holiday weekend in May we’ve planned to go away for three nights and also two nights in the middle of May.
I haven’t done any camping since before having kids so would love any tips and advise for making it a good weekend and as stress free as possible.
I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant so especially by the mid-may camp may be well fat haha.
I’ve just spent all my nectar points on outdoor games for the boys (6 and 8) and we’ve got things like bingo / monopoly / card games etc for if the weather isn’t great.
I’ve got picnic blankets to go under the airbeds and plan to take lots of sleeping bags and fleecy blankets to stay warm. Cooking wise we are only taking a single stove and kettle as plan to be out for the days and have BBQ / take away for evening meals. Just doing cereal, croissants and fruit for breakfast.
Prior to kids I used to do very wild camping with friends. We’d hike out somewhere with a rucksack, mat and a sleeping bag and sleep under the stars or if raining under trees / in a cave (quite dangerous really we one time had to bail out in the early hours when the cave started flooding!!). So this is very different to me! I am really looking forward to it, but as I’m pregnant and camping with kids am looking to make it as comfortable as possible. Any hints and tips? xxx
