hiya, was just wondering if any one could answer my question. I am 38 weeks pregnant today (due 11th Sept) my baby has been breech for a number of weeks now so I am booked in to have a C section on fri 6th Sept when I will be 39 + 2. what are the chances of my baby turning round from now until then and also will they still carry out the section if baby has turned around? thank you :)

Hello melissa, i have had 4 sections and one more coming on. 31st oct.

Mine were not due to breach so wouldnt be changed but over the years i have seen other ladies from the three ladies booked in for section all upset on the morning of op as baby had turned, they should scan you again on the morning tochk babys position, if thats the only reason not to go natural they should send you back home which would normally be yayyyyy but as the ladies are fully geared up for delivering baby that morning they are usuallly and understandably upset at the late change.

Id try to see it as a option to get your head used to the possibility but many may not turn

Thank you for the reply :) I'm really hoping baby doesn't turn around, as you said I'm all geared up now and ready for the big day tomorrow. x

Hiya, only just spotted this thread. Is breach the only reason for the c section? Like mentioned before ask for scan before the procedure to see if baby has moved, I think they should check beforehand though. If baby has turned you could always discuss your options then. They won't make you go through any procedures you don't want. At the end of the day the choice is yours. Obviously the priority is getting you and bubs safely through this.

Good luck for tomorrow if the c section goes ahead. A planned c section is a lot calmer than an emergency and you should get through to the other side in better nick than an emergency one.

Hiya, yes baby being breech is the only reason for the section. This is what I want so I'm hoping baby doesn't turn around tonight x

You know you can still opt for a c section even if baby has turned. Best of luck for tomorrow, hope you're soon getting baby cuddles. x

Putting my two cents in: You can do yoga positions that may possibly help your baby turn from breech. Some doctors can and are willing to help turn your baby from the outside but that can get tricky and sometimes would lead to an immediate need to deliver for reasons like the cord got caught on your baby's limbs or neck and is causing harm to both of you.

I would assume that they won't do csection on you anymore if the baby is in correct position, you've started labor, and is progressing well without complications.
