c-section

Who would chose surgery! Obv if it was better for me and bubs no question I would do it but as much as I scared about childbirth are bodies r meant to do it and the thought of major surgery and the recovery is worse for me!
 I agree with choices and that women should have a right to chose I just think it is bizarre!

Omg!! The recovery from a c section is hideous compared to a natural delivery. I bet loads of women go for it though x

If u want it that bad pay for it yourself!!! Think what that money could be used for?? Scbu equipment.. Cancer research.. Drugs for cancer patients who have to die in pain coz they can't afford the drugs??

Pfffft!!! Too posh to push.. If ur that posh you can afford the extra £800 to pay for it cant you!!

Sorry lol ppl annoy me sometimes.. Why would anyone opt for surgery that's not needed??

Because they are ignorant? Because they don't know or haven't researched the consequences of opting for a section? Because they are scared of natural birth? Loads of reasons, all of which could be remedied by a good mw with an honest and frank discussion with the mum x

I agree Hun!

I personally would only have a c section if it was the best thing for me and LO. Theres a girl at work whose recently announced shes pregnant and has said shes having a c section as theres no way shes pushing! I'm all for choice but I wouldn't chose major surgery unless it was necessary. x x x

I would slap her! Lol

I'm having to bite my tongue over everything she says as it seems shes the only woman to have ever been pregnant before! If I respond to a single comment I don't think I'd be able to stop myself! x x x

Don't let this woman wind you up, she doesn't realise the pain she will suffer, the long painful recovery and the scar she will be left with (mine is hideous and upsets me daily!).
I feel sorry for her, she is so mis-informed that she thinks it is the easy option and it is sooooooo not. Wait til she's trying to get a flat stomach back and she can't because her muscles have been sliced! x

God thats just stupid. Like jayceesmuma said, that money could be used to help so many people, no wonder the country is in dept when money,s being thrown away on pointless surgery. If you don,t want to push, don,t get pregnant, thats all I can say.

i know! loads of people will end up doing it due to lazyness probably.. id still rather pop my baby out than be sliced and diced

The thought of being cut open and baby being pulled from my stomach while I'm awake  .... Scares the shit out of me!! Even tho I honestly am freaking out about birth (still.. Dunno why!!) I'd still rather that than a section!

My o/h told me about this today. I'm not sure why someone would chose to put themselves through a section without very good reason? I may have to have one yet due to a very low placenta and I'm not best pleased about it!
I think if it's for snobbery's sake then they should have to pay x

I can't imagine why people would just choose to have the sugery! I was really disappointed when I found out id need a section... I was quite looking forward to giving birth and was feeling good about the whole thing! But the risk of shoulder dystocia was higher, LO was big and my pelvis was small. I wasn't prepared to go through the trauma as it can be bad for the baby so I chose a section.

Mine went fine, I was out of hospital the next day and off my painkillers on day 5 and in nandos for lunch with OH and LO!

For me for the strangest thing is not really being able to say I gave birth! Not really sure how I can say it!

Xx

I'm with everyone else on this. It's almost like the classic "too posh to push" isn't it? The recovery after a c section looks like a pain in the bum, especially when you have a lo to look after. When you watch OBEM it's no wonder it's bloody sore!

xxx

And when u read the birth stories on here the majority who had a section wanted a vaginal birth but it wasn't possible for whatever reason - no one seems to actively want one - and if they do it's not because they consider themselves too posh to push there's always a good reason behind it x

I mist admit that before falling pregnant I was in the 'I want a c section crowd' but since reading my books and knowing what I know now,
No way in hell!
I think it 'seems' like an easier option when really it's not. I want to be able to pick my child up if I have to whenever he needs it without the risk
Of bursting stitches!
