c section question

Were you put on iron tablets?, is it standard? I didn't have a huge blood loss and my iron level hasn't dropped that much (remained decent for my whole pregnancy) but still got iron tablets. I dont want more constipation as it took me days to go after tje section and really added to the pain. I just wondered if it was standard practice.

I had iron tabs. Dunno if it was general or cause I had low iron x

I have them it I had a massive heammorage and I'm very aenemic but I must admit I'm not taking them for the same reason, I just taking a multi vitamin now!

I'm going to ask for a blood test to recheck my levels as I really don't want to take them for the sake of it! Stupid hospital can't be trusted that's for sure.

Probably worth checking. I never had iron tablets after my section. Did you lose a lot of blood during the surgery? They really should have told you why they were putting you on them.

I was given 10 days worth and told it was because I lost blood xx

I was supposed to- had a huge blood loss of 1600 mls, but they make me ill do the doctors gave me spatone which has been fab- you can buy it over the counter it's iron in water, had no side effects x
