Hi girls, well this afternoon I had to nip out from work to go to the bank and whilst I was standing in the queue suddenly felt a lot of wetness in my knickers. Thinking it was just CM (which I have had quite a bit of lately) I didn't really worry until I got back to work. When I went to the loo I had a fair bit of brown discharge in my undies.

Really scared as I hope this isn't the start of a MC. Got upset and told the lady I work with who was really sweet, what makes it worse though is that OH is away for 2 weeks. I had such a bad feeling something would happen after he'd gone and he only left yesterday

Have mild tummy & back aches but I have had these on and off throughout the pregnancy. What should I do? Is it best to go to the docs and get my cervix examined?

I had the same thing with my first pregnancy. I got booked in for a scan & all was fine, baby had a strong heartbeat. It was such a relief! It's quite a common occurrence & unless you have severe pains & lots of bright red blood you shouldn't worry. However I know that's easier said than done. If you are concerned contact your doctor & they'll check you out or send you for a scan.

Hope that helps xxx

This happened to me on Tuesday. I went to the docs on Wednesday and they sent me to hospital for a scan but everything was fine. I seen the baby with a heartbeat. Like sunnyb said if your worried there is no harm going to your gp or midwife to check it out. Hope your ok, i know how worrying it can be xx

they normally send you to you epu for a early scan but i dont know if they do them at the weekend they dont in my hospital i had bright red blood 3 time and my little man was fine :) hope you get seen asap as you do worry no matter how reasurred you are x

Is it around the time you would usually expect your period? You can have breakthrough bleeding around the time your period is due.

If you are worried, get to the doctor.

Hope everything's ok.

xx

i would say definately get in touch with doctor even if its just to put your mind at ease, i have bled with 4 out of my 6 pregnancies so far so it can be normal but it scary just the same

Thanks so much for your responses girls they have really helped reassure me. Well I ended up calling NHS direct on Friday night and they referred me to my local out of hours clinic to see a doctor there. He did say a similar thing in that as long as it's brown blood and not accompanied by any severe pain that it's normal. Seeing my midwife on Thursday and that can't come quick enough as far as I'm concerned!! Am really hoping she might be able to get me an early date for a scan. Stayed at my my mum & dad's Friday night and last night as like I said OH is away and didn't want to be alone. Had more brown discharge last night and this morning, just praying it doesn't turn red x x
