Breast / Bottle

hi, just wanted to reply to Honey83...dont worry about all the stuff you think you dont know you just find it out as you go :D

With the mixing breast and bottle thing it deppends who you speak to as to if its good or not, i had a midwife and health visitor that were very supportive and advised that it shouldnt matter if i give baby a feed a day to give me a break...i used to have trouble expressing and it was a very hot summer so for when i couldnt express we didnt waste money on buying a tub of formular as they dont last long but you can buy small cartons of SMA that once opened you keep in fridge so we just kept a few of those in and if i needed a break or OH wanted to feed him we got one of those out instead :D

Well i hope this helps, it will be fine just take each day as it comes and dont give yourself a hard time

xx tigger xx

I want to breast feed :D i would be upset if baby didnt take to breast feeding but i wouldnt blame it, they dont like very apertising to me either

Thanks for the advice Tigger, that is exactly what i want to do, so it helps to know that others have done the same. Ideally i will express but that might not happen. Gosh so many uncertainties!! xxx

I'm very suprised of how many of us ladies are going to bottle feed, I always got the impression that the majority of mammies did the "Breast is best" route!

Why does that get applause? :?

Breast for us. Stanley was bottle fed but I'm hoping to learn from my bad experience last time in order to give breast feeding a go.

Not according to the statistics to be fair.

If you want to breastfeed, you have to really want it. It's really hard at the beginning, but really rewardning once you get over that. There are problems with lack of support, so do some research before your baby comes along as to where to find support should you need it.

It's very difficult and you will always find that someone has an opinion to offer either way. I tried to breastfeed my daughter and I managed it for about a week but I was quite ill after the birth so I gave up because it was stressing me out so much and therefore my baby. I did not beat myself up though, as long as you and baby are healthy that's all that matters. Having said that, I will give it another shot this time and hopefully, knowing that this is my second time, I will be a bit more relaxed about everything. You will find your way that's best for you, don't worry
