Has anyone else not really had them by this stage? I really don't think I have, my bump only goes hard when his bum is sticking out which is understandable but I don't think I've actually had them. Not had any tightenings really :/ Maybe not everyone has them, I don't know?! Xx

I've had them, but they've been really light.
Last pregnancy they were pretty bad though.

Some people never notice them. Maybe it means your really hydrated. Only way most people feel them is if they aren't hydrated enough. :)

I've had a couple but nothing to write home about iykwim. We've prob had them and not realised at all.

I've had period type pains so they could have been them but really not sure!
Xx

I never noticed mine until I was about 37/38 weeks so don't worry about that! I still only have a few now and I've got 3 days to go! Xxx

I'm absolutely plagued with them! Just wish it were the real thing! Xx

I retract my earlier comment - had three of the must painful tightenings ever in the last hour. Think I jinxed myself when I wrote my previous comment! X

I may have felt my first BH today, but I'm not convinced. My tum went incredibly solid down the front of it and I had a bit of discomfort, but it lasted for a couple of minutes and slowly faded away. I thought BH were fairly short tho, so I'm not sure it was one.

Most of mine seem to last a couple of minutes at least. MW said they could last for periods of up to 5 minutes, which sets them apart from 'real' contractions xx

I've had them, but not often and not painful - only had one painful one. But it is possible to have them and not realise you have had one x

This is how mine started out, not actually being 100% positive that it was one at the time. Now when I have them I know all about it!!

So are real ones much shorter and more intense then? xx

I've had no tightenings that i know of but the last week ive been getting like period pains!?!?!? Got MW tomoz so gonna ask her!

I think I've had a few this time, feels like you're really bloated??? I'm not sure lol. Don't think I had any last time.

Yes the real thing is shorter and more intense hun, sorry lol x x

38 weeks today and still haven't had anything, unless im a bit dumb and haven't noticed and just thought iv'e had general aches and pains :S

I don't think I've had them...
My tummys always hard but I do get what I can only describe as intense poo pains as if you've got food poisoning all over my tummy for a few seconds then goes away and comes back....?!

Yes, much much MUCH apparently ;) xx

Oh my days!! I didnt cope very well with the BH I had yesterday. Think I'm going to have to re-write my birth plan from 'lovely plinky plinky softly softly water birth' to 'gimme the drugs....now' based on last night!!!!

Seriously though I'm pleased they were only BH as I really dont want to meet him yet, he needs to cook longer xxx

Yes I was thinking 'That's been 6 hours now, surely it can't be braxton hicks, this is much easier than I thought!' :p MW kindly burst my bubble and said if I'd been contracting real contractions for 6 hours, I wouldn't be so polite to her on the phone

The good thing is though, it was a nice practice run, seeing how I dealt with it on my own (didn't panic), then how hubby coped when he thought I was in labour in the cinema! Plus having the two paracetamol and the bath and realising what a difference it made, which is what they recommend you do in labour anyway. So braxton hicks as practice contractions pretty much does what it says on the tin!

I'm feeling quite prepared for labour now, and although I'm not exactly welcoming the pain that's about to come, I'd be fine with baby arriving soon. Cooking nicely in there and quite a chubby wee thing already. Bring it on! xx

ive not had a thing and im due on saturday lol
whether thats a good thing or bad thing im yet to find out!
no show, no BH, no symptoms, no nothing.....
reckon shes gonna be late then~!
