hi :)

I am really stuck with a boys name, I have no partner to help me choose so thought I would ask advice here.

I love Noah but my family says its to religious or biblical (bit worried that when his older it sounds to childish?)

my family keep on at me to call him Dexter but im just not sure I like it enough.

my surname is lowers and not sure if either of those names go.

I like kye as well

does any one have any more names that are a little different that go with my surname?

many thanks

Jodie x

I have a Max, people always comment positively on his name and it really suits him. If we have another boy in the future we have chosen Theo as once again it's a bit different without being odd. I also love:

Freddie,
Oscar,
William,
Ethan,
Samuel/Samson,
Harrison,
George,
Lucas,

I also really like Noah and if you love it go for it :)

Hope that helps xxx

I like Noah and don't think you have to worry about the religious aspect in this day and age (check out how many names are of Hebrew origin - most of them out of the bible - it's a bit harsh to religion but I don't think many people care about that aspect any more). However, say the name out loud with your surname. If it were me I would think twice.

I like dexter but definitely don't pick it just because your family like it - this is your bubs it has to be a name you love.

I used to go to school with a guy called Kai and I really fancied him so I like that name lol

What type of name do you like - modern, trad, unique, popular, unisex?

I really like Logan but that might be cos of wolverine :eh: i like quite trad names for boys - jack, Charlie, Harry etc

Hi Jodie,

I had early scan and we were told we were having a boy. Decided on the name Noah James. I love Noah, and think its a good child's name and adults. We've now been told we're having a girl, so that names out he window.lol.

Two of my friends have just had little boys. ones named Quinn, and the other Cooper. They aren't common at all.

If I were you, I'd stop listening as much to your family and have a real think about what you like and what you think goes with your last name. I'm not sure that Noah works with your last name, but it's your choice. Don't worry about things being "too biblical" or too anything for that matter - too trendy, too popular, too babyish... that's what someone else thinks and their opinion isn't necessarily "right". I wouldn't name my baby something just because my family wanted me to. In fact, it'd probably make me less inclined to use it, but that's just coz I'm stubborn!

There are LOADS of baby name websites out there. You have plenty of time. Why don't you have a look through them and make a shortlist that you revisit every few weeks... and have a think about the names that stick with you in between. If there's one you can't get out of your head then that could be a sign. Or it might be that when baby arrives, he just suits a certain name!

dexter reminds me of a dogs name :\

sod your family - this is your baby- call him whatever you want :)

thanks everyone :)

I have had Noah in my head for the last 3/4 months I just love it, but really not sure on it with my surname that's the only reason I haven't 100% decide on that name.

I do like Harrison that is on my short list as well :) logan was on it, until I said it with lowers then I had to cross it off the list lol logan lowers don't quite go together. I had Kade and Cooper on it but my cousin just took those names for her twins so there gone as well lol

thanks everyone I do keep looking at baby names site but just nothing is really popping out at me I want something just a bit different xx

How about Carter, Spencer or Jackson? Xx

I love Noah but agree its a bit of a mouthful with your surname.
How about Jenson, Leo, Jackson, Lincoln, Quinn (my fav for my boy at the minute)
Like the other ladies said don't let your family dictate the name, its your baby and were here as a sounding board!

I love Noah, we were going to call baby that too, but now I think we have settled on max :) xxx

Loving Harrison too. And works with your surname too (I agree about Logan - tbh I realised as soon as I'd submitted! I feel for you -I have a ridiculous surname and finding a loved name that also works with it has been a nightmare! Lol)

Noah Lowers may be a bit of a mouthful.

I like Noah though.

Personally not keen on Kye or Dexter

Lol what to - 'no', or maybe 'ah'. If it were me I'd give him a shortened name purely in fil's presence - but I am evil :x

I love Noah but agree on the surname front. My favourite boy's name is Leo but I'm not sure if you would like it with your surname (I think it's ok!)? I also like Harrison!

What about...
Flynn
Finn
Hugo
Max
Toby
Billy
Tate
Harvey

They're a few on my list!

I love traditional names, my boys are Jack & Harry. We're trying for number 3 next year and if it's a third boy (pleeeeaaaassse! lol) he'll be called Oliver.

I like Noah but not sure about it with your surname x

I had Dexter picked for my baby but found out at 20 weeks she was a girl. I loved dexter right up till my mum told me my deceased aunty had a yappy dog called dexter! So so it totally put me off. That said, I was thinking about it the other night and ive decided I like it again. Haha xx

tapatalking

I don't think the dog thing matters - unless you're thinking of calling your child rover  but people often give dogs human names so it's no biggy - I know about 3 dogs called Lucy but I'd never think that was a bad name for a child. Dexter is a good human name too!

Noah im afraid does not work with your surname

I dont like dexter ( sorry) its a cartoon name or pet name ( just in my head)

Im also not a k name fan, i think all k names sound made up

God how harsh am i sorry to be so honest hun.

My names may well be odd to you too, you havd to go with your heart and poo poo everyone else xx
