Boy's name MIRAN - opinions please

I thought Mih-ran when I saw it too so it looks like he'll normally have people pronouncing it right.

I think it sounds rather cute (and I much prefer it to Milan I'm afraid) and will also be quite grown up when he is older.

The only downfall I see (and it may well be that it is rather late and I have succumbed to baby brain! ) is that I initially read it as Imran...

Well at least Miran is a tad more original than Jack... gah... that seemed to gain popularity after Titanic and its still nº1 name in the UK... couldn't cope with my kid being one of 20 other kids in a school all with the same name. If you want people to be more accepting of it in the UK I'd advise changing the spelling to how you want it to be pronounced I don't really like Dylan either but at least its not on the top 100 list for boys names http://www.statistics.gov.uk/specials/b ... s_boys.asp

I totally agree, I really like it too.

And I know i've said it before but it shouldn't matter what anybody else thinks hun, it's what you and o/h like that matters.

If you both like it, sod what anybody else thinks, and have the name you like.
