I've heard that LO can get bored whilst feeding, is this true? And also heard some mums wear interesting, beady, tinkly type necklaces for LO to play with or watch whilst feeding, anyone do this? Any experience or ideas really appreciated, thankyou in advance :)

Ruby has always feed well, quickly and easily but if there is ANY distraction around at the mo-i.e OH or tv, she turns her head away and is more intrested in them

I would personally say to try and keep it as distraction free as poss, bubba will be more intrested in getting fed, and will look at you-its such a lovely close time when they are feeding, a real bonding feeling...thats just my opnion tho, I have always associated feed times as just that, and no playing about-she drinks, burps and THEN plays in her bouncer/play mat

i completely agree with zoe... it all dribbles out of rhys' mouth if he is distracted

Derfinitely no distractions, i used to turn the tv off and the radio when i fed stephen as a baby as he got easily distracted.

Thankyou very much for your experience  I did think it was a bonding rather than 'boring' experience for LO whilst feeding, I'll give any necklaces a miss I think, thankyou again :D

Hi

Kiara always ate and was done in 5 min , but as she got older even 5 min was hard at times but never used anything to distarct her really.

Charlie was easily distracted as well although I have heard of mums who bought/used feeding beads which were necklaces that baby could play with when breatfeeding to stop them scratching mums boobs or gripping/pinching skin when holding on to the boob.....
Charlie was bootle fed at the end of the first week cos my milk didnt come in and I ran out of Colostrum but he has always messed with the large silver cross on my chain..was something he started doing from newborn
