I have done the whole pregnancy thing myself, gave birth, done EVERY night feed, EVERY bath shes ever had, etc etc etc... her dad sees her for 1-3 hours per day on average and she has started to say 'dadadada'...

at the minute its just a sound as shes not looking at him and tbh i dont think she would know, out of my dad, brother, brother in law and her dad, who her actual dad is!!! but still very frustrating to think her first words are probably going to be dada when hes done sweet FA as far as bringing her up goes!!!

sorry just moaning!!

Aw hun :( if it makes you feel any better I did read somewhere that they tend to say this first only because it's 'easier' for them to say than other things, but I get what you mean :( hope ur alright xx

thanks hun! its just bloody annoying, its so hard being a single parent and it just really wound me up tonight when he heard her and was saying how much she must prefer him coz she's shouting for him! just proves how little he knows her i guess! im gonna keep saying mummy to her to see if she will pick it up haha! xx

Oh hun hope u dont mind me saying but what he said is bang out of order, childish and downright nasty, he doesn't know anything :( It'd annoy me too if I was in your situation. Lol I do the same with Angel I always say 'mama' to her :P x

I dont mind you saying at all, i agree! the guy is a complete tool sometimes, think he just speaks before he thinks! he's only changed about 5 nappys in her life and i cant remember the last time he gave her a bottle so im not too bothered i know she doesnt need him i just hope she learns muma pretty soon haha xx

I've heard it's easier for them to say that first. My friend was moaning today cos her little boy can say daddy and the dogs name but not mummy

I've heard dada and baba are the easiest to say, get working on baba and tell him he heard wrong, i always say to Issac mamamama lol but i know its gonna be dadadada
X

Just you wait, when she's got the grasp of Mumma, you'll be hearing it non stop I bet! xx

Yep I've heard it's because it's easier too! Xx

My OH is Albanian and Baba is daddy in Albanian so I'm screwed whether it's baba or dada he says first. C said a million words before mummy, in fact he didn't say mummy he said 'hello mummyyyyyy!'. At least when he says that you'll know he means it lol

All i get it Da Da Da Da too! Think they just say that sound first. Kynon is now saying a la la sound too which OH and dd have decided is him trying to say Michaela my dds name, bet the dog gets a name before me! I've decided his cry is my name!

Lol I'm kinda dreading this in a way but I know OH will be pleased!

My first word was gaga meaning rabbit (and my night time toy) I used to point at rabbits and shout gaga lol.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean anything yet at this age :) G says ma-ma-ma but I don't get too excited.

Dada is meant to be easier to say......it's simple, just like their species in general lol

I'm plugging Mama to Bertie already lol

Charlie only says baba and dada , i keep saying mama and he watches my mouth very carefully, like he is trying to learn to copy me..he always breaks out into a smile when I say mama!! :)

I would like her to say dada first just to make there bond stronger because i know he resents only seeing her a few hours a day x

i went to a mums group the other day and the HV said all mums get annoyed as babies first words are usually dada but its literally because its easiest for them to say!! it just kinda comes out without them actually knowing what it mean so dont be disheartened :)

you're doing a fab job :) xxx
