Hey ladies

Anyone got any tips to help with the bloating?
Come the end of the day I am huge and it's so uncomfortable I can't even hold my belly in it's so uncomfortable :(

I know peppermint tea helps with bloating but I just can't stomach the thought of it right now so wondered if any of you can recommend anything else

Xx

I’ll be following this as I feel exactly the same!! OH was convinced I was pushing my belly out the other night but it was just complete bloat!

Haha I keep having to tell my oh I'm not this big, it's just end of day bloat

I've been having this and I'm only 3 to 4 weeks pregnant. It's been awful.

The only things I have found that have helped is not having any fizzy drinks, just water or squash. No crisps or sweets or baked beans.
I have lost 6lb this week by cutting all that out, I'm just eating healthier and a bit less than normal because all the bloating makes me feel constantly full. I'm overweight so it doesn't do me any harm.

Ooo I'll be trying the peppermint tea as I've had awful bloat. We're going on a cruise soon so I'll try and have plenty of peppermint tea on the cruise.

I also think I'm going to be living on muesli, prunes and dried apricots for breakfasts while I'm away to stop me getting constipated.

My bloat is awful, its getting t g me down actually as I'm actively losing weight but looking bigger. Only 4+5 so it's definitely not baby! I've never been this big so early

Im only 4 weeks and im suffering the same. Never had bloating this bad with my first. At the end of the day i look like im 6months pregnant! If anyone knows a way to help reduce the bloated feeling then please spill the beans x

I am in the exact same boat as you chase, I had 2 st to lose before I go at pregnant but I ll happily take a pregnancy and worry about the weight later. I too am huge already. I can't figure out if it's because it's my second pregnancy or because I'm bigger (although only half a stone heavier than when I had DD) or the bloat I said just worse this time around. Come the end of the day I'm like a whale

Snap!
The only thing I know of is peppermint tea. I may have to suck it up and get some.

The bloat is the worst at 4-5 weeks. I looked more pregnant then than at 9 weeks haha. It does settle, sort of. A big part of the bloat is that your digestive system slows down when you get pregnant so the food sits for longer, creating more gas in there. Eating high fibre foods and drinking heaps of eater helps to get it all moving faster. In my experience you can't cure the bloat though haha

I've been follow g SW for a week so only eating high fibre, protein and fruit and veg. I've been eating a very healthy diet and cut out white bread completely and my bloating has improved but not disappeared. I'm. Also way more regular than I used to be... Sorry if that's TMI :rotfl:

^^I've followed sw for a long time and although I've gone off it slightly more recently when I first got pregnant I was still constipated and bloated :( so looks like it's good if it's a change in diet but not if you've been following it beforehand. That's a pain though - doesn't seem fair haha.

I've been on/off SW for 5 years now. I was off before my bfp as I was on holiday and was straight back on it when we got home. The bloat was probably the 6lb holiday gain though 🤣

The main reason your body makes more gas during pregnancy is because you have much more progesterone, a hormone that relaxes muscles throughout your body, including your digestive tract. These relaxed muscles slow down digestion, which can lead to gas, bloating, burping, and flatulence, and generally create uncomfortable sensations in your gut, especially after a big meal.
few suggestion:
Don't eat big meals.
Instead, eat several small meals throughout the day.
Take your time and chew thoroughly.
Don't talk while you're eating.
Limit how much you drink during meals.
Drink regularly throughout the day instead.
Drink from a cup or glass – not from a bottle or through a straw – and don't gulp.
Don't drink carbonated beverages.
Don't drink anything sweetened with the artificial sweetener sorbitol.
Sit up while you're eating or drinking, even if you're just having a small snack.
Get moving. Even a brisk walk can help a sluggish digestive tract.
Prevent or treat constipation because it can add to flatulence and a feeling of abdominal bloating.
Don't smoke. Smoking not only contributes to many serious health problems, it also boosts stomach acidity. (Try to quit before getting pregnant. If you're having trouble, ask your provider to refer you to a program that can help.)

hope i help :))
