Birthing ball question??

Hey Girls,

I was just wondering how you lot use your birthing balls if you have one?
I just sit and gently bounce on mine but dont seem to be feeling anything!! :think:

Also how long are you on it for??
 
I found rocking from side to side really helped during labour.

Is it a proper big birth ball or just a little gym one?

The ones at the hospital were ma-hoo-sive andwere great!
 
its quite a big one i have been told to use it now at the end of my pregnancy to try and get things moving a little faster?
 
I think it can help your baby descend? I used to bounce on mine for ages but it didn't really help before labour. :think:
 
After a 2 mile walk and then bouncing on my birth ball quite vigirously(sp) for over an hour, my waters broke the next morning, but hey she was proberly ready :D
 
I think you're supposed to sit on it for 20 mins a day. Sit forward on it with your knees lower than your hips and it's supposed to help get the baby in to the best position.
Our ball arrived the day before the consultant said I had to have a caesarean so I haven't bothered going on the ball since!
 
i just bounce on mine for a bit, and it is good to encourage the baby into the optimal position
