Help! just been to midwife who said "ooh she quite big" She thinks baby will be over albs, maybe 81/2. I was hoping for a small one! I am now more worried about labour. Any thoughts? is this big or not? xx

No I think that's perfect I have heard less problems with bigger babys as they're weight help things along quicker don't panic hun. Plus that's what pain relief is for x x

Really? that's good know thanks! was planning on no drugs but I am now feeling more flexible on the subject! x

sorry realised my typing was crap... meant to type 8 - 8 1/2 pounds

No don't worry although I am very relaxed about it as I am frame of mine it got there and its gotta get out one way lol.
Don't panic. Drugs are there if you need them. No pressure x x

Oh my dd was 7.7 first so I think this one is gonna be bigger. I did tear but it didnt hurt and I didn't feel it. X x

i got told i was having a small baby last time and i had a big baby and had a fairly ok labour .. without a scan i think they cant really tell.. Id agree tho they have to come out so dont stress to much lol x

im sure it will be fine hun.

im just praying mine isn't like my nans 1st. 13lb. ouch. xxx

8 to 8 and a half is a good size but not too big!! I've been told mine is going to be over 9lb....a baby isn't considered unusually big unless it's more or less 10lb + I must say I'm a little worried about mine because I've had 3 scans and he just keeps piling weight on so quick - so am concerned he'll end up closer to 10lb!! But everyone tells me big ones come out easier because gravity pulls them out! I am worried about tearing though! xx

My first was 9lb 3oz, and the labour wasn't as bad as my mate who had a 7 pound baby so dnt worried. Chick it is much easyer to push trust me :p! Xx

they say the bigger the easier, but I think i may discover how true that is with this one, my midwife reckons over 8lb for this one, my weights so far have been 5lb12, 6lb8, 4lb 6 (prem), 6lb15, then last baby 6lb 13. so a big jump but we are yet to see, i reckon about 7lb but i no midwife lol

I was told I was gonna have a massive baby possibly more than 10lb!!! He was only 8lb and he was 11 days late! I think sometimes they just get it wrong. But I didn't have too bad a labour really, it was hard work but no where near as bad as I thought it would be!

My friend recently had a baby and she was told the baby would be at least 9lbs but she was 7lbs when she was born which i think is the perfect size :-)

Had DS a few weeks ago who weighed 8lb 14 and labour was only 3 hours with gas so don't worry :)

Feeling better now ladies, thanks for your positive thoughts! I like the idea that the heavier, the easier to push out, as long as her head isn't too big!
