Hi!
Wondered if anyone had any help / advice for me? I saw a midwife yesterday and she helpfully told me that my 'nice big baby was 2/5 engaged in posterior position'. Im really worried about this as am coming up to 38 weeks.
This is my second (and last!) pregnancy and the first was a fairly stress free home water birth. I was hoping for a shorter repeat of my first experience and now im so scared :(
She said the baby would most likely turn in labour but I have heard nasty stories of these 'back labours' and wondered if anyone had any positive experiences to put me at ease?
I don't want to go into labour feeling negative as I am aware that would be a big mistake.
Thank you in advance

not sure if it helps hun but at my last midwife appt i was told hes back to back
but he has turned now even though his head is engaged not sure how far though
dont give up on baby turning just yet

My son was back to back and there are things you can do to help baby turn before delivery. I was told to sit up as straight as I could on the sofa - prop yourself up with cushions if you need to, and spending as much time as you can on all fours to try and get gravity to turn him. However saying this it did not work for me but I think in most cases the baby will turn during labour.

Nathan was a nice big baby who was back to back right up till the last minute then turned to a perfect position when I went into labour :) I know its not always the case ( having had a back to back baby) but theres a good chance.
Try all the exercises they recommend to turn the baby, they can work. If not its not that bad, Aimee was born facing the side but the labour its self wasn't THAT bad

both of mine were back to back, with harrison I spent loads of time on my ball and on all fours and it didn't turn him :(

i had a back to back labour with harriet and i know i dont have any thing to compare it to, but it wasnt that bad. just tore in a wierd way but actual labour was fine
