Congratualtions!!
My doctors receptionist wouldnt let me see the doctor & the midwife who I insisted called me because I was unhappy with the receptionists info confirmed I didnt have to see the doctor but just book in for my midwife appointment.
After seeking some advice on here though it seems as though most people go to the docs.
I would have liked to have gone to get some basic advise about what I should/shouldnt do & eat, so I would urge you to go. If the receptionist pokes her nose in & asks you why you want to see the doctor dont tell the truth like I did & say pregnancy just say its a private matter something you want to discuss with the doctor.

With regards your job, your employer should do all that is reasonable to remove or reduce any risks, which could include altering your working conditions, offering you a suitable alternative, or suspending you on full pay if no alternative is available
