Been to hospital last night - back again today

Not posted on here for a while as I have been either unwell or mega busy. Fo the last few weeks I have been having terrible rib pain on my right hand side, yesterday it got to the point that I was crying at work and struggled to drive home. I also had concerns about baby as I have felt very little movement from him lately, still moving but not much at all. Called Triage at the local womens unit and they told me to come straight in. Me and baby have been monitored and babies heartbeat was fine, although not much movement. I have to go back in today for a growth scan as they say I am measuring very large for dates. They think I could have excess amniotic fluid and poss a big baby. My bump is barely palpable so they want to check this out. They said that jut by looking at me my bump looked large for dates. Obviously all this will only aggravate my ribs etc much more as the pregnancy progresses. I have been signed off work for a week from the hospital whilst they investigate further but I doubt I will be back in tbh. They diagnoses Osteochodritis of the rib cage an this will only get worse as pregnancy progresses and hopefully should get better after baby is born. The only relief I get is by being lay in bed, I'm just in constant pain otherwise.

So nervous about today, just hope all is well.

On top of all this I have had two colds/virus' in the last few weeks, my daughter is really poorly with this virus and now my husband has shit going on at work. Walked Ito a letter requesting him to attend a disciplinary hearing which was supposed to be yesterday, this has been adjourned until next week. We are hoping it will all go away fairly soon as there isn't any substance to the allegations and he hasn't been suspended or anything. Here's hoping, because I could really do without this shit!

How did your appointment go today, how big was baby?

We received some heartbreaking news yesterday that all is not well with baby. I wrote a huge post last night but it would post for some reason so just going to try and keep it short for now.

Our little man is a very poorly little boy, so much so I was instantly admitted and now been tranferred to another hospital with an available neonatal bed as they want to deliver him ASAP. I have had my first lots of steriods they intially wanted to deliver today but are now hoping he can hang on in me until Monday. It's his grandads birthday today.

I'm off for another scan this morning and more monitoring but the prognosis for our little boy is bleak. He has severe Hydrops and I have Polyhydromnios as a result of whatever is causing all this excess fluid. He probably only has a 10% chance of survival. They are hoping he will respond to blood transfusions when his is born, if so that's a big step in the right direction. I have been told I couldn't even attempt a vaginal delivery as his abdomen is so big and he would not survive the distress. They estimate he weighs just under 5lbs but about 20-25% of that will probably be fluid - so a good size but not terribly comforting. Even if he survives his he will be a very sick little boy.

Please have us in your prayers as that's all we have at the moment. Please please if you are ever worried about your size or lack of movement get yourself fully checked early. The olny way that have identified this is by scan, heart trace has been normal. I knew somethig was off I Was getting so big and feeling him less and less, my midwife and consultant missed this. I hope have made it in time. Cmon my little fighter u can do it xxxxx

Forgot to add that all my other testing was normal, my routine scans and quad test. That don't think it is chromosomal as they think this would have shown on earlier tests. More likely viral or anemia but there are so many things it could be. He was only checked 6 weeks prior to this on scan and all was well. Total shock and I have not stopped crying since this rollercoaster started - incidently I have now just been told they don scan on saturdays argh!!!! Looks like I may be in delivery tonight.

Oh Laura, my heart goes out to you , you sound like you being soo brave through all of this shock.

Wishing you all my best wishes for a safe delivery of your little boy and i will be routing for him afterwards , and hope he goes from strength to strength now you have had this news found out. I am so glad you did get checked out , and once he is out , he will be in the right place for the best of care X
