hiya so this is my first month temping, and I can see when I ovulated as there was a dip but after ovulation the rise is very slow, for example I am supposed to be 2dpo today but it still hasn't jumped. Is this normal? so slow rise after ovulation, I thought you would see a big temp jump....

I just entered it in fertility friend, and I think I ovulated on CD14 which matches my positive opk(peak) on CD 13. Let me know what you think?

Seems very slow but FF won’t give you your crosshairs unless your temperature is trending upwards for three days. So if you get a rise again tomorrow it should agree that you ovulated on cd14

Having said that, your pre-ovulation temps are quite high so I’m not sure where your coverline would be or whether FF will agree that you have ovulated. You’ll know more tomorrow, meanwhile I’d keep DTD every second day.

ok thanks so do you think slow rise could be a problem?

I edited after you posted, sorry.

Let’s not worry too much and wait and see what tomorrow brings :hugs:

Here is my chart from when I conceived my son. I have a slow rise also, but it didn't stop me carrying to term. It doesn't matter if its a slow rise or if it shoots up, as long as there is a rise :)

hi baby3, thats good to hear. hopefully I will conceive as well. Its interesting to chart though, and see my pattern, I have been trying for over a year now and never though about charting.

My temp doesn't go up til 3 days after ovulation. For some women it's not the day after.

I was ttc for 2.5 years for my son. Was put on clomid in the end and decided to chart. Was only charting for 2 cycles before I fell pregnant.

It is useful, takes the guess work out of when you think you ovulated. So you know exactly when AF is due :)

can I ask you what clomid does? I thought you need to take it if you are not ovulating, is there another use for it?

I was referred to fertility specialist, after multiple tests I was then diagnosed with secondary infertility. In other words they had no idea why I wasn't falling pregnant. They basically told me ivf was my next option and that they couldnt help as I had a child to ex. I broke down in his office and he agreed to let me try clomid at a low dose. The risk was that it could hinder my ovulation altogether or make me ovulate more and I'd end up with multiple pregnancy. At this point I was desperate and it seemed worth the risk. I fell pregnant on the second round.

Personally I think I have problems creating decent mature eggs, I've never taken a contraceptive in the last 7 years yet only caught twice in the last 7 months, both of which ended in failed pregnancy. In light of that I think the clomid helped me to produce a mature egg.

ah I see, you know if I don't get my BFP soon I might go to my GP. do GPs prescribe clomid?

Sorry maximus, I replied but it's not posted.

When I was prescribed it it was by a fertility specialist. If I remember rightly my gp said he couldn't prescribe it.

But it's well worth going to see your gp if you haven't already. They can do blood works as you've been ttc for the past year. You could also ask to be referred to a specialist?

I was told that the NHS don't treat women over 40 for fertility. Your GP can do a certain amount but the fertility specialists are reserved for the under 40s. You can check if it's the same in your area but that's how it is where I am. As long as you don't have IVF, private treatment isn't as expensive as you'd think though.

I was always put off clomid by the risks involved in taking it.

Ah I see. I don’t think I can get referred as last time they said something like I have a child already and I need to be trying for 2 years. I managed to get pregnant in May but had a miscarriage so that put me back to the beginning:(

Thanks sunflower. I think you are right and I might need to go private. If I don’t get pregnant in 6 months I might look at the cost of private...
