Do u girls have baths? When I was in ttc I always showered (can't remember why) and in early pregnancy I read u should shower rather than bath. Well I really fancy a nice bath, surely that's ok...right?! Xx

baths, less than 100oF are fine, so test it beforehand and you will be fine xxx i have absolutely pipping hot baths so am not having one til i can face a "warm" bath but will def be having one soon :-)

I think you just don't want to have a really hot one not one that will leave you steaming. From what I've read you don't want to increase you body temperature in tri1. Enjoy relaxing, just don't steam yourself ;)
xxxx

Totally fine hun, as long as the water isn't so hot it turns your skin red xx

I've not a single shower at all this pregnancy! lol The showers been broken for a while so it's been baths all the way! :) x

Thanks ladies, I thought so, as long as it's not too hot. I
Going to have a lovely warm radox bath this afternoon :) xx

i have hot baths, to the point my skin is red...... I havent been told not to and i alway feel light headed after a bath and it doesnt seem any worse since falling pregnant, i dont have a shower and i cant stand a warm/cool bath. Am i not supposed to be having a hot bath?? xx

No hun, you're not supposed to have a hot bath :(

It raises your body temperature, and it's vital for babies wellbeing/development/growth that the temperature in the womb stays contstant.

Maybe cool it down a little so it doesnt make your skin red? :)

If you're feeling lightheaded after too that doesnt sound too good x

OMG it seems i learn more from this forum than anywhere i didnt know about that, well since i dont have a shower ill have a warm bath from now on... would it of caused any problems for crumpet? ive just flicked onto another post about spa's.... my friend wanted me to go to one thats close by becasue they have the pools that are really cold and really hot (not sure what there actually called)

Thanks for letting me know xx

MW said as long as you are comfortable it's fine. It's if the water's so hot you start sweating/feeling faint that can cause problems. :) Personally OH and I don't even have a shower so it's been baths all the way for me :) x

I'm bad, I always have hot baths. But I read somewhere that you're also ok if you regulate your body temperature by hanging your feet out the end, which I do do.

Ohhhh I so fancy a bath right now with plenty of Lush products in it!

Agreed with the others Pos. I hear its ok so long as its not to hot!

x

I'm going to some hot springs in Malaysia and been advised to steer clear. Mixed evidence because hot baths apparently are the norm in Japan (put me right if anyone knows different). But in general advice is not to raise your body temp so Lisa I'd avoid the spa, sudden temperature changes shock the body and going from cold to really hot is probably worse than a hot bath. Sorry hun, get a massage or treatment instead :)

I have baths in my OH's house (with my OH most of the time) :p
And at my parents house I have showers (On my own!!)
xxx

i'm sure it is rare that it would cause problems but probably best to cool them down a little. for anyone worrying that they have been having hot baths - a few weeks ago my temperature was 38 for 3 days in a row (i believe it should be 36 or less) due to a fever and baby was fine at a scan i had after that xxx

I've had hot baths...not to the point where its gona strip my skin off...but I've felt sweaty! I always shower afterwards too though as the shower is in the bath area and I don't feel properly clean unless I do that. Now though, I've been sticking to showers only unless I have a desperate want for a bath, cos my ever expanding bump makes it too hard to get out of the bath  x

I have no choice but to have a bath as I don't have a shower, just make sure it's not too hot :)
