Back Pain

I used to sit with a hot water bottle wrapped in a fleece on my back towards the end, this really helped my backache.

yep a hot water bottle works good for me too .

Nice soak in bath, or one of them wgeat bag things you heat up in microwave (like a hotwater bottle but much nicer I think)xx

Are those them wheat bags that smell of lavander and other aromas ?

If so these are GREAT  my mum use them for her joint pain and they really work shes always raving about them .

What sort of back pain is it - muscular or more spinal or is it a trapped-nerve type of thing?

When it's my muscles, a nice back massage and a hot pack is about the best I can ever do. If it's trapped nerve I have to put cold pack on it to reduce swelling and even though I HATE anything cold, it really does help with the pain.

Paracetamol is the only pain killer I know is safe during pregnancy but I've never asked a GP about anything else.

Hope it eases up soon

Whoops, it should of said WHEAT bags :rotfl: Typing too fast!! :rotfl:
They really are fab....I had back ache in 2nd tri, and took one into work, it really helped and kept it heated up in microwave

doc said i could take codeine for my back, but as i suffer from chronic constipation ive stuck with paracetamol as in agony as it is without being bunged up

I have a siatsu back massager that kneads any knots out and my doctor prescribed co-codamol (but im not sure you can take this when pg)?

I have always had a very bad back but all i get sent to is a rubbish physio who does nothing!

Those Hotties are great.

I normally take up to 8 Tramadols a day for my back but due to possibly been pregnant I can't take more than paracetamol which don't touch the pain. But those hotties (weat bags) are really good.

Also find laying on side hurts less than laying on back when sleeping. I've also put a duvet folded in half under the sheet on my side of the bed.

Back rubs! Get you man to give you nightly back rubs with Almond oil.

Thanks, had a long bath earlier, not been on the PC at all today until now as it doesn't help I think. I have one of those wheat bags my sister got me last Xmas, I used that the other night. They are really good but it's a lavender one so I smell like an old woman when I use it. lol Was £15 so can't just buy another.

It's worse being pregnant, only been the last couple of weeks it's been that way though but gonna get worse. I have a back problem already with the lubar spine. I couldn't walk the last two months I was pregnant with Ryan, I don't want that again. :|

I'm in that for my back too but the doctor said I can't take it while I'm pregnant. With Ryan I didn't dare and after I'd had him the doctor told me I could have been taking them. Useless the lot of them. Dunno what we can and can't do as they all say different things.

I got wheat bag slippers for christmas they are marvellous!!!!
