At what stage do i need to think about writing a baby list for all the stuff ive got to get?

Am i to early to be thinking about it, i wont be buying them straight away but i need idea's of what ive got to get, the big things ie.. pram and things can wait nearer the end.

I was thinking smaller bits ie... baby powder, cotton buds, things like that.

I am only 16 weeks am i wanting to get things to quickly??

My MIL has already started stocking up for me, she's bought lotion, shampoo, cotton buds, cotton wool, she's unstoppable lol! I have bought some nappies with some vouchers I had that ran out fairly soon but other than just that a few babygrows. I don't think it's too soon, better to spread out the cost!

I already have my breast pump
will probably wait until after 20 weeks to start planning/getting most of it unless I see bits in sales that I know that I will need...

i've already started buying big things.
Things like nappies, cotton wool and baby lotion you will need all the time so no harm in stocking up now and like the girls have said spread the cost. :)

Me and my OH have been saving our money rather than buying bits.
Inky - I've only bought one pack of nappies with a voucher I had that was running out! Haha!
x

I've got the big bit but only because i had a cousin and freind were wanting to sell there baby bits - so looking forward to buying the smaller bits once i've had my 20 week scan - can't wait to buy something new!

My MIL aint that nice there skanky with there money haha,
Ive been trying to save but i have to give other half some because i feel guilty because hes all spent up. He doesnt quite know how much we got to spend on a baby :) lol.
Although i can get a few free things ie.. big bits that shud help :D.
i would rather get the little bits myself not the inlaws they'd be to in my face if they did it lol.
I suppose starting slowly comparing prices an only get small bits for now x

Believe me, I've tried to stop my MIL, she's out of control! Her daughter has a 2 year old son but they emigrated to Australia last July so she's really concentrating on this little one to stop being upset about my nephew not being there, it's a shame for her so I don't really feel I can be too strong with her - if she feels better buying little stuff like that then I think I just have to let her get on with it! I'm grateful too obviously, but we haven't begun work on the nursery or anything yet so don't really have anywhere to store all this stuff she keeps on buying!

On another note, I've seen that the baby show is at the NEC in a couple of months time, have any of you ladies had any experience? Are they worth going to? I don't want to shell out loads on tickets if it's not worth going lol!

i went to the NEC baby show when i was pregnant before (befor ei miscarried) it was ok but mostly is just shopping!! so you need to take lots of money lol.

we have bought loads of neutral baby clothes hehe. some lotions, a nice posh blanket and a few bits like that xx

i think its best to buy abit every month then you dont notice it so much. i think the easter sales will be a good time to buy big things like pram n that. thats when i'm going to buy i think x

Easter Sales? That's a handy tip!! :)

My Mum's obsessed with buying a pram and car seat so i'm not objecting in a hurry! lol!

I've got my 20 week scan booked in for 29th March so I want to TRY and hang on until after then. Or at least until I can feel Peanut moving pretty much every day! I'm not the paranoid type but i think the next 20-odd weeks would just drag if I bought everything now.

I cant wait though, and it's SOOOOOOOOOOOO hard when clothes shopping not to just throw in a pack of baby grows! X

I went to see my mom yesterday and she stocked me up with babywipes bless her, it all helps! She's gone completely overboard too though, she bought a new car because she was worried she wouldn't fit a baby seat in her old one. They live 60 miles away and we only get to see them once a month or so but it sounds like she's planning on kidnapping the baby and taking it home lol!! At least I know it will be safe in the car!

Im not starting till after i find out what the baby is, iv got push chair and car chair at my in-laws but now im getting a new corsa im wondering if i should get an isofix car chair and sell the one iv got lol. But little bits im gonna wait till after my 20wk scan then ill prob go out and start buying bits. Plus iv got the baby show in may so will beable to buy some bargins there :) x

I have been buying a few bits each week since my scan at 12 weeks, have not got any of the big stuff yet, will wait until I am further along

baby wipes are on offer at the min for £1 thats cheap really lol.
hubby wants me to look at the buy one get one free it knackers me out all this walking hahax
