Can anyone recommend a moisturiser for baby's face? Blake has really bad dry skin round his mouth.

I've tried junior oilatum, E45 and doublebase but to no avail.

Is there anything out there specifically for the face?

My health visitor says to put vaseline on his face for dry skin but haven't tried it yet. Other than that, I quite like nivea dry skin cream for him.

Was gonna say oilatum but looks like it's not working. I found it took 2 days to clear charley's dry skin x.

I use little me organics range of body cream-the mmmmmm moisture babies one- for Seb's eczema as everything else (e45, oiltrum etc) made it worse! This clears it up brilliantly x you could try it?

Tegan had dry cheeks and i use Vasaline does a fab job x

Try some olive oil - its the purest thing. Or some sweet Almond oil. Also, Aveda make Magic Cream, its in a tube and has milk proteins in itm its gorgeous and good for rashy skin too. Its about £5 I think and Boots stock it xx

we use Aveeno and have it prescribed for Owen's eczema. It's oat based and we have bath and moisturiser for body. It really moisturises him well, I found the double base just sat on the surface of the skin.

Our doctor prescribed diprobase for Eva cos she gets patches of eczema on her legs and she told me to use it for the dry skin on her forehead and it works like a dream. I put it on twice everyday and her skin is now nice and baby soft.

I second the Aveeno baby moisturiser, my first little man had eczema as a baby and the dermatologist recommended it - cleared it right up. We only use Aveeno products on him in the shower as well. They're a Godsend! :)

Yes I have this too but couldn't remember the name. It's very good and i like the smell of it

Thanks for all the replies ladies. Is diprobase the same as doublebase?

I can just imagine that conversation with my OH;

OH: what's this stuff on his face Gem?
Me: oh it's just BOTTOM BUTTER...
OH: WTF?!??

 my mum read somewhere, probs good housekeeping, knowin her, that women are actualy using bottom butter as facial moisturiser cos it was so good! Think it was waitrose own!

they say the best creams for face are nappy rash creams although ive never tried it haha they told me to use olive oil on my d.s dry skin

what does he have in his bath and what does he wash with (now i have an image of your little man sat there with soap and sponge washing himself haha what a clever baby )

Ha ha he has baby oilatum in his bath. I don't bathe him every night anymore as his skin, even with the oilatum was drying out. I bath him about 3 times a week. I use the doublebase every day, as much as I can remember.

His skin was great when I was smothering him in olive oil every night but my mum has a super sensitive nose and complained that he stank of 'grease' so I got paranoid and stopped using it. She is a pain in the arse!

double base might be too much for him if the olive oil worked id go back to that and bake cakes when your mums around :) the worst he could smell of grease is only as strong as the olive oil so he cant be that bad and if its better for his skin :)

is it eczema he has??? i fair better when ive been out in the sun the sun tends to really help me i know you cant let him sun bathe but a little sun when its not at its strongest might help

We got prescribed Dermol lotion for the wee mans eczema on his face, its defdo better than it was. The oilatum made it worse :eh:

have you tried rapeseed oil that has a nutty smell same effect as olive oil x
