No, I don't like the idea personally. But then, I cringe at the thought of a baby shower too. Each to their own, but sounds a bit OTT for me. We didn't feel the need to find out the sex of the baby before birth anyway, let alone have a party about it!

crazy americans hey but thos baby showrs are becoming more n more popular over here aswel just like blooming proms its my daughters next yr n i think i better start saving now omg i think her dress will cost more than a bloody wedding dress haha or she thinks anyways hehe i never find out the sex so this is bonkers for me and if i did i sure as hell wouldnt want to find out myself by slicing the cake lol x

I am not overly keen on Baby showers, my friends keep asking me if they should organise one but I don't really want one.... plue we are staying team yellow so the only person I want telling me LO's gender is hubby....

The above said I completely understand why people enjoy baby showers. xx

I think its a nice idea for people that would like to find out that way and how best to celebrate than with cake - yummo!

I understand why people want to celebrate the imminent birth of their babies but I'm not a fan. Purely because its a bit of a 'look at me and bring a present' moment, which I'm not keen on for myself. My sister keeps saying she'll organise one for me but I'd rather that people come and visit wee man after he's born and I'm back in the land of the living

I don'tlike the idea of all those food colourings in there (which is very unhealthy), perhaps mixed with natural ingredients (like beets for pink and bleuberry juice for light blue) would be nice. I don't even get a babyshower so I wouldn't be bothered to bake anything hehe.

I don't like the idea at all. Now if someone wants to bring me a cake for having a girl then that's absolutely fine, I'll devour it lol. But the idea of making a song and dance out of it doesn't appeal to me at all.

I'm much the same with the baby shower idea. I just don't see the point. If people want to buy stuff for the baby, they can. But I don't want them to feel as if they have to! X

Yeah not a party but the cake looks fun to tell family, maybe even individual cupcakes they could all bite into at the same time
