Any recommendations?

As we have a mothercare spin we can only really choose a mothercare seat, britax or maxi cosi- the only adaptors available.

i have the maxi-cosi cabriofix and i love it even though i aint really used it yet lol x

Did you buy the base with it too?! I can't justify the possible £300 spend if I get the base too!

Luckily the 20% off mothercare voucher is still valid, so I will be using that!!x

i think the bases are invaluable so much less hassle but they are not esential just a nice to have xx

I have the maxi cosi and dont have the base and find its really simple to get in and out of the car. Only down point is it is fairly heavy in my opinion so if you have a heavy baby, it could get pretty hard to carry quite quickly. Id still recommend it though even though its heavy lol. :D

yea i brought the isofix base so much easier :) x

We are looking at a mamas and papas pram so will probably get their car seat a Cybex Aton.

After seeing how easy it can be to strap a car seat in the car with a seatbelt, I cant help but think around £100 for a base is unecessary.

i got the maxi cosi cabrio fix, didnt bother with the base as fixing it the normal way really isnt too much hassle and i wouldnt always want the base to be in the car because i share with my OH and dont want it to be on show all the time in case someone takes a fancy to it lol xxx

I have the mothercare spin too and was thinking of just getting the spin carseat so I won't need to use adaptors. x

Annie- I was going to get the seat too but it hasn't got he best reviews. Most have said that it sits too upright for the baby, and that there head flops forward. It looks like it would only last until baby is four months- it's quite small.

This is why I am thinking I'm a going to have to fork out for a bigger car seat that will last longer. Rather than having to replace the spin one earlier than I want too.

Aah I see- looks like our bubs is going to be a tiny little one so it may do her longer but I take your point. May look at the maxi cosi in that case.

I would suggest the maxi cosi cabriofix including the EASY FIX base (this is an isofix base that clicks onto your (metal thingies that stick out through the car seats at the back). Not every car has them but if you have it is worth paying the extra amount of money (because this is the safest way to use a baby carseat).

I now have the priorifix (also an isofix for my boy who is 13 months).

I have the Jane Noir Matrix car seat, it lies flat for the first few months until baby can build up some neck muscles, i couldnt stand seeing Jasper in his seat all slouched over, constantly worried about his neck muscles and also his comfort

Our car seat was 125 pounds, it lasts for a year and a half and then we have a Mamas and Papas car seat which my brother gave to us which will last until he is 4 and ready for a booster seat :)
