I was just wondering- do you avoid baths round the time of O and in the 2ww?

I don't know whether they are bad for any sperm waiting up there or if they are ok?

To be honest i have never thought about it, i try not to move much after BD for a little while then after that i carry on as normal really(Normal as i can be)

:cheer:

I wondered about this a while back so did a little research. It's fine to take a bath just keep it a bit cooler than you might normaly have it. Wait for at least 30 mins after bd'ing to give the swimmers enough time to reach your fallopian tubes and then go for it. You won't wash anything away that wasn't already a right off.

Thats great- I can have a guilt free bath when I come in from work at night!

Apparantly the boys shouldnt have hot baths either should they?

definitely no baths for the boys. It'll kill the spermies off for a few days!

xxx

 i never knew that and Danny has a bath in boiling hot water!!!!

right thats it for him! no more baths :rotfl:

Not heard of this one, but I only have showers anyway. I suppose if the water is hot it may kill the sperm off

LOL I've never heard this before. What about for those who don't have a shower?........They'll stink :rotfl:

I asked my fertility doctor about this,

Baths cause no harm to females or during ovulation etc.

But.... it can kill a males sperm.

Interestingly so does a sunbed.

The damage can take several months to repair.... il go c if i can find some info on the net.

Afew quotes iv found from various sites

This is a list of substances known or suspected of harming male reproductive health:-

Avoiding the use of electric blankets, microwave ovens, sunbeds and if possible medical X-rays
Lead used in making storage batteries and paints.
Ionising and non-ionising radiation, the former found in nuclear plant and medical facilities, the latter in high voltage switchyards and in communications facilities.
Anaesthetic Gases.
Vinyl Chloride used in plastic manufacturing.
Kepone used as a pesticide.
Heat stress occurring in foundries, smelters, bakeries and farm work.
Carbon disulphide used in the manufacture of viscose rayon and as a fumigant.
Oestrogen used in manufacturing of oral contraceptives.
Methylene chloride used as a solvent in paint strippers.
EDB (ethylene bromide) used as an ingredient in leaded gasoline and as a fumigant on tropical fruit for export.

Phew OH comes into contact with non of the above.......well maybe the microwave but nothing else. :)

Actually, Vinyl Chloride has been found in food products that have plastic packaging, and Oestrogen is believed to be in the water supply!

Just goes to show you can never be too careful, but I doubt the amounts are enough to cause any harm.....I hope!
