This only seems to be a big problem in the night.

Tilly will not go back down :( its taken hubby an hour of walking the floor to stop her crying but she won't sleep. This has happened for 2 nights now

Is this normal?? I never thought it was going to be as hard as this

As hun poor you.
Does she have wind? Maybe try infacol?
Or have you tried swaddling? I've used a swaddle wrap with both my boys & they've had really good nights.
If it gets too bad it may be worthwhile seeing doctor as maybe bubs has colic?
Hope it resolves soon xxx

Aaaaaargh. She's been crying for 2.5 hours now.

I can't deal with this.

I was gonna say the same. G used to take ages to settle, especially at night. Infacol really helped. Xxx

Your in the worst few weeks I'm afraid where you literally hit rock bottom and you're still getting to know baby and what they want.
One thing I learnt is, if they want cuddles, let them have cuddles!! They dont know any better and it doesnt mean they are going to be clingy when they're a bit older.

I'd also get her on the infacol. Is she bf or ff? If she's ff and it's colic/constipation then I'd move her onto a comfort milk. I wish I moved Sophie onto one a long time ago because she's a much more content baby now.
I would also invest in some kind of a sling, as I found it helped Sophie settle and relax and meant I still had hands free to do things!

Henry used to take an hour and a half to settle after a night feed. This has give down to about half an hour now.

He had also started to dream feed. He stirs in the night so we go into his nursery so he died by wake DH ad he has work but henry is usually still asleep, just very fidgety and makin lots of noise. So I try to feed him and he latches on really well and falls off my boob when he's done.

at the minute its an hour ish, she can get really fussy tho and the other night it was 3 hrs, 1 sleep then awake n crying again til 8am when i gave up n got up so OH could sleep. this is why you should nap when they do :) it does improve but at first they have no sense of night and day and sometimes they scream n you dont know why...

is she bf or ff? if she drinig her bottle she could want a extra ounce we had this at the start and after few days of awful crying we realised she was just still hungry.

like the girls have said if its wind infacol is great. hope she settles tonught for u its so hard when they get so upset xxx

Same here was about 2 hours from start of feed to back to bed in the first few weeks and then anything less then an hour is like whoop! :) It does get better honestly or maybe you just become more used to it! Big hugs and try and stay positive! XX

It does get easier hon. It's so so hard at the moment but you do get through it xxx

I don't think I can take another night like that!!!

It's the screaming I can't deal with :(

I'm even hearing it when she's not doing it now. I was in tears last night because she just wouldn't stop crying.

She's not like it in the day time so I don't understand?

Also, she keeps being sick. Do you think this could have anything to do with it?

I'd maybe try a sleep positioner as they angle them slightly and feel closer than a flat mattress
Place your top on it for her to sleep on and maybe swaddle.

I used a positioner with dd as she was a sicky baby when laid down and it helped and I've used one from beginning with Theo and he's been good with it too

Try givin infacol at every feed too to help ease her stomach

theyre usually sick if they eat too much, have wind or have reflux so investigate those, wind often during feeding, especially if its a bottle feed, give infacol before every feed (takes a few days to kick in)and ask mw about reflux symptoms to be sure its not that :)

sometimes they have a bad night. Alyssa screamed for hours between 5am and 9am the other day and i was losing the will to live but she was much better last night x
