Hi everyone, it's been a while since I was on here properly and hubby and I have finally made the decision to have a 2nd child -all being well.
The thing is last time it was all planned and I fell pregnant straight away and now he has said to me he wants a 2nd I would like it to be a suprise although I am not that great at them!

We go away in May so looking to ideally conceive whilst away so wondering if I should finish the pill I am on now or wait til it comes to the end, as I don't want to TOM whilst away.

Just bare in mind that because it happened first time of trying, first time round, it might not happen like that again. Can you be trusted to use other protection? Ha! By that I mean, would you use condoms if you came off the pill? We bloody hate the things, but as I'm not using anything else, some times in the month we have to use them! Would you be ok in waiting until May to try? I'm quite sure you're really fertile straight away after the pill so I'm sure you'd be ok to take them up until May.

I'm also TTC in May - it's not long at all now! How exciting!

Getting jealous.....

Had a little work out as to whether we could try in May... I'd be 13 weeks by the wedding, probably showing... going to have to just wait until August...

I agree with Mrs M. Just because it happened quickly first time around doesn't mean it will this time... If you don't want AF on holiday I'd probably keep going on the pill until afterwards, but if you want to TTC before then, then you need to come off them! Also keep in mind you often are more fertile the first month after coming off the pill (not always, but sometimes) so if you stopped before your holiday could you cope being in the early stages of pregnancy whilst away on holiday?

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Problem is we are going to Florida very beginning and I don't want to be pregnant early on so looking at the 2nd week of starting to TTC, last time I came off in Dec and got used to my cycles, I just don't fancy being on in the parks in hot weather hence why I think waiting until the end of the 2nd week would be ideal but then we cannot plan these things exactly. Last time we got caught out as we had initially planned for DS to come in nov but due to cycle he was a dec baby which I actually love really a baby anytime from jan 2016 onwards is ideal.

We did this last time so I came off the pill 2 months before ttc, this time I think it will be more relaxed and my god I want it to be everything dragged on its just deciding when to come off the pill and when will the dreaded visitor arrive as with swimming etc I don't want the hassle its one more thing to pack!

My fiancé hates the idea of a December baby. I think he'd deal with it if it happened, but he says he'd avoid it...

I love how easy he thinks it is that we can just avoid it... (I've used a calculator and noticed if we fell pregnant in May, we'd be due the day before his Birthday.... shame that won't happen lol-he could have had a baby for his 30th)

Was the same with us we hated the idea of having a dec baby as it is the added expense plus he gets everything all in one go! Hence we need to try and get it right this time!

Snap! I wasn't going to try in March as I didn't want a Xmas baby, but after many months of trying, I wasn't going to stop! So my daughter turned 5 on Xmas Eve! The second worst day of the year to have a birthday, but in all honesty, you can make any special if you want it to be, and at the moment she loves her Xmas birthday! And so do I!

Back to the subject! Ha ha! If it was me I would take the pill until I came home from my hols! My pregnancy and no bleeds. As soon as you're back you can get trying!

Sort of off the subject a little, but you just reminded me.

I was on the pill two years ago when we went to Bulgaria, after our flight when we got to our hotel I started bleeding-despite still taking the pill, I hadn't missed any either. We ended up having to rush to the little supermarket in the hotel to buy some tampons, as I wasn't due to stop my pill until we got home so I hadn't brought any... do you know why that was? I never had it before or after when on the pill? was it something to do with the flight?

Need to remember to take something to Mexico with me just in case actually, as although I'm due on a week before we go I wouldn't want to be caught short again if the same happened.

It happened to me actually last year when we went to Florida, nothing major so not sure what it could've been. I will take something with me this time just incase as planning on TTC 3rd week in MAY now. I said to DH that I wasn't going to tell him when I came off the pill this time so he could have the suprise and he said well I know we are aiming for a baby in early 2016 so it will be obvious! Ha think I will need to throw him off the trail as last time it was so planned and there will be no more after this one. DH was completely against it after I have Esec as it terrified him the only difference this time is that I think you know what to expect and well I have lost 3 stone and am a lot fitter albeit am older!

I have a Boxing Day baby! He was due Christmas Day and I went into labour smack bam on time, but refused to push until that clock ticked over midnight! LOL

I think with the breakthrough bleeding and the pill, when you're travelling I swear sometimes the change in location/time zone/water etc. can bring on bleeding. When I took the pill (many, many moons ago!) I always found that when I travelled I'd bleed.

How strange that it's happened to the three of us.... and sounds like it's something to do with the pill

lol-I can imagine refusing to push, although when I had my little one I started pushing and couldn't stop... they asked me to stop at one point but it was involuntary-so don't know if I'd be any good if it came to that lol

LOL Donna, I'm the same. I've never pushed. I just let my body do it (actually I actively fight pushing cos it hurts!)... They told me at about 10-11pm that I was 10cm and the only thing holding baby in was the fact my waters hadn't broken and if I wanted to push I could. I didn't! LOL Mind you I was more hanging on because I was waiting for MIL and FIL (who was dying from terminal cancer) to arrive... Thankfully they arrived just after midnight, I jumped straight in the birth pool and he was born about 3 minutes later! LOL

That's so weird, when I was flying home from Turkey a few years ago I started bleeding! Nothing on the way there and I was on the depo injection! Xxx

I am planning on taking some things with me, I was on the pill and not even on the 7 day break when I had some bleeding when I was away last year so this time I will take things with me just to be sure. Still trying to decide what to do as if I finish it and have a 7 day before we go away then maybe I will just stay off it! I suppose I should just sit and work it out!
