Did you put LO down for a nap / sleep in a separate room from yourselves?

We're fine at the mo as once Harry is in a deep sleep he doesn't respond to much

But like now I've just got him ready for bed into his sleepsuit and he's had a little feed and dropped off

At some point I guess I should stop taking him back downstairs and out him in his crib with the monitors on (we have a video one)

What have you all done? He's 2.5 weeks x

My LO was about 3 months when i started putting her to bed upstairs while i was downstairs and 6 months before i put her for naps upstairs and also in her own room :)

Not done it yet and k is 7 months lol! He sleeps in his buggy or not at all, he doesn't do sleep at night let alone the day!

I still haven't done it at 9 weeks, I go to bed at 8 every night with little man in Moses nxt to me x

Oh Sarah I feel for you! We're very lucky that at the mo Harry likes his sleep

I can't remember exactly but think she was around 5 weeks when i started putting her to bed upstairs . I have a video monitor so can keep eye on her . Maybe give it a little longer he is very small

Oh gawd for daytime naps we did this from day one :oooo: he stayed in our room at night until he was 12 weeks.

We started this week. Around the 9pm feed I get her changed into PJs and sleeping bag and she goes into her moses basket upstairs. I follow up to bed about 10.30pm. We have the angelcare monitor so feel comfortable as it's such a comprehensive monitor. I just felt uncomfortable having her in the lounge while we were watching a film more because I wanted her to get used to a dark quiet room - don't want her to get used to the TV being on while she drops off which means she won't sleep when it's quiet!

Forgot to say in the daytime she sleeps in the pram in the lounge, but I potter around doing jobs while she is asleep and just keep peering in on her regularly.

Helly I do that during the day now just thinking a bit like you at night that although it's good that he can sleep thru tv etc I do want to start him off with good habits at bedtime by being in a darker/quiet room

I know he's too young yet just trying to get a bit of a feeling for it.

Meant to ask Becky, I've bought a crib today for sumo baby, (lol) do you use a crib bumper with yours??

No we didn't bother just another expense we didn't need!

He's fine without it and likes to wave his arms all about xx

This is what we do too - started at around 7 weeks.

She went into a room on her own to nap or at bedtime from about 3 weeks x

Hey,
I put LO in his own bedroom at night quite early on. He was prob around six weeks old. And I started putting him in his bedroom for day time naps a bit later prob around 4 months xxxx

Chloe had her daytime naps in her bassinet and then in her cot in our room right from the start. She also got put down for the night in her bassinet/ cot and left with the monitor on but all the lights out right from the start.
She's still in our room, goes down at 6.30 / 7pm, lights out, will wake for one feed overnight and then again at about 7/7.30am. I leave our bedroom door open though so she can hear the normal noises of the household and her 3 year old brother! Babies have to learn to tolerate a certain level of noise.
I won't be moving her into her own room until she's over 6 months though.

I am just starting to try and put Chloe down for her naps in her own room. We are just at the predicament of putting her in her cot for the night as she is outgrowing her basket. I can't decide whether to move her cot into our room or just put her in her own room straight away.

I think its all down to personal preference and feelings x
