Anyone got any experience?
The doctor said it gets much worse
(it only developed after my last pregnancy)

Yea me unfortunately. The doctor told me to keep taking my inhalers as normal and the extra doses when needed but it seems to give me bother throughout the day now whereas before it only gave me bother when my triggers set it off (extreme cold/warm weather, exercise) I'm hoping it'll settle down a bit when the summer kicks in xxxx

Yeah mines the same I grew out of it, then it came back before I knew I was pregnant (Probably when I was early days pregnant)

Mine only used to play up if I had a REALLY bad cold, but now it plays up just walking down the road if the weathers misty or humid or anything! It's fine to take inhalers when pregnant too, they advise it, and my nurse said to me instead of having to have steriod tablets when pregnant I can double up my dose on my brown inhaler!

Bad side of Asthma is Ezcema goes hand in hand with it and thats flared up too!

I have asthma. I am 29 weeks pregnant and as of yet my asthma has not played up. The dr did not say it would play up, he just said to continue taking the asthma medication as normal.

Hi, Im an asthma nurse. About one 3rd of people stay the same with their asthma, one 3rd find their asthma improves and one 3rd finds it worsens in pregnancy. You should definately keep taking your inhalers during pregnancy, they can't harm LO, what is worse is uncontrolled asthma as LO wouldn't be getting enough oxygen so if you are having symptoms (cough, wheeze, difficulty breathing) or taking your blue inhaler more than normal you should see your GP. xx

Oh this is so weird! I was thinking this question earlier! Now i know:) thanks girls :) xx

Thank you ladies.
I've found that if I forget to take my tablet (which I normally do  ) the I struggle a lot through that day. Im gonna make a little appointment with my asthma nurse anyway as Im due a review :) xx

I had it as a child but grew out of it as I got older, however I got it back after moving over here. It got worse during the early stages of pregnancy but seemed to have disappeared again during the later stages and I still haven't had any signs of it since giving birth.

Ive suffered from asthma since i was 2 years of age (Im now 22), since getting pregnant it hasn't really got any worse but because ive got a baby crushing against my ribs I do sometimes find it hard to catch my breathe when im walking, but if ive got my inhaler on me i take a breathe of it and it does the trick! :).

My midwife hasn't really made a comment on my asthma during the whole of my pregnancy so i assume years of keeping it under control mean its not really a threat :)

I have asthma and honestly haven't noticed a difference.

But then - things like exercise are what trigger mine, and hayfever, but I haven't done any exercise and hayfever isn't in full swing yet.

I have asthma and haven't noticed any difference, I have been told by my doctor, midwife and consultant obstetrician that about 1/3 of women's asthma improves during pregnancy, 1/3 stays the same and 1/3 gets worse. Just take your meds as usual.

xxx

I haven't noticed any change to be honest. If anything I've not had to take my inhaler for months - mainly because it's exercise induced and I've been a right lazy cow lol. Was at gym 4 times a week before pregnancy so had it a lot more xx

Im struggling atm but tbh I think its the kittens. It really is time for them to vamoosh to their new homes
