So I was chatting with one of my friends and she told me about her fertility struggles. She had 2 IVF which failed , 2 miscarriages and the rest. So in the end she tried another fertility specialist and he recommended to take letrizole. She got pregnant on her second month with this drug. Than when she was 40 and wanted to get pregnant again, she took this drug again and got pregnant the first month. I read about this and it sounds much better than clomid which has too many side effects. Letrizole might make you ovulate more than one egg and maybe help them be more mature. Anyone has tried this before?

Hey,

I've never used it but I have read about it. From what i read it was originally use for the treatment of breast cancer in menopausal women but is used by fertility specialist to help combat infertility. Its and inhibitor and works by reducing the levels of estrogen you produce, this is turn encourages ovulation. You have less chance of multiple pregnancy with it but may still suffer similar side effects as clomid; dizzy spells, sickness, hot flushes, headaches, breast pain etc etc. You take it the same as clomid for 5 days either CD3-7 or CD5-9. If your worried about side effects the best advice I can offer is to take your clomid/letrozole before bed. I did this was was able to sleep through majority of the side effects. Hopefully you won't need to resort to these though. Good luck xx

were you able to get pregnant using this drug?

I didn't use the letrozole, i used clomid. Yes, i fell pregnant with clomid on the second cycle. I didn't find the side effects bad, just the occasional headache

thank you, I managed to convince my husband to go to a fertility clinic and get some basic tests done than we can try this drug if needed. He finally agreed to have SA!!! I am going to see if I get my BFP this month and if not I need to get a move on
