Have any of you ever been prescribed metronidazole, Ive got it along with doxycycline because my infection levels in my body are still high, I had sepsis in labour and it's never fully gone, so ive been poorly since I gave birth!

Anyway I digress, those who have had this antibiotic did you have any side effects?

I feel like absolute crap and im not sure if its the infection or antibiotic but the infection levels have gone down so surely I should be feeling better, not worse xxx

I'm of no use but I'm sorry you're still feeling rough hun. Look after yourself :hugs:

Thank you :) im sure I'll get better soon! so hard looking after a baby whisky your feeling like crap :( xxx

I had this for bacterial vaginosis in my first pregnancy an i ended up with thrush on my tongue which was agony i cried when i ate or drank it was soooo sore im not sure if it was a side effect of them or whether i hadnt taken them with enough water as my husband had them for a dental infection an he was fine

Hope u feel better soon xx

Hi

Tri hopping! Yes it made me feel rough too. Also really interacts with alcohol - sure that is the last thing on your mind but thought I would warn you.

Hope you feel better soon, poor you xx

God ive not drank since 3 month before my son was born so that's 15 month now lol... I won't be anytime soon either, imagine looking after a baby with a hangover I couldn't cope! I felt rough before taking them but thought Id start to feel better now, started taking them on Thursday evening, if anything I feel worse! I did read they can make you feel crap xxx

If you're worried go back to the doctors to make sure it's not anything else.

After my first I had really low iron and felt like a pile of crap until he was three months old.

Yes they are known to make you feel rough! Upset stomach, brown tounge, horrible taste and feeling generally out of it. They are very effective though even if they do make you feel worse for a while! Xx

Ive had very blood test going, everything normal except infection levels... I thought it was iron but they said they are normal! I phoned 111 and they sent me to primary care, been there all afternoon! Temp was high and they did more bloods and sent me home, said to keep taking the antibiotics as they will kill the infection and put up with the side effects as I'll feel better after the course! I don't mind doing that if im going to feel better after the 2 week course but it's just such hard work with a baby as you will all know! My partner works all day and I have no other help as most my family live away and people close to me around here work :( my oh has taken over today for me and will tomorrow so hopefully by Monday I'll be ok xxx

I've taken them. They advised me to take actimel with them as they can be quite Harsh on your tummy. I have had about three courses of the tablets and wasn't too badly affected to be honest xx

I had projectile vomiting on it not a good one in my books x

I had thay due to BV too cause of my coil - i took it plenty and didnt suffer.

Hope u feel well soon.

xxxx

I had this after an infection and also was told to take probiotic yogurts with it - it gave me awful stomach upset.
Hope you feel better soon xx

I don't have bv, it's pelvic inflammatory disease (well that's what they thought) turns out it's not that so they have taken me off it thank god, now I feel 100 x better! Horrible stuff xxx
